If it is you that needs to quit smoking (13-15 years old), my advice is simple. Get new friends. I smoked at that age because it was the "cool" thing to do...passing time between classes with your buddies having a butt. Then I realized how disgusting it was when my dentist showed me pictures of the teeth and gums of heavy smokers.
If you hang around people that don't smoke, you won't have any reason to, really - espescially at that age.

I've tried quiting several times, and I've used the Patch, nicotine gum, slowing down first, all the little cheat methods. They don't work. They just drag the "want" out.

The best method is to go cold turkey. It's hell for 2 or 3 days, but then you're OK. I went cold turkey a little over a month ago, and I haven't gone back.

The only thing you should feel when shooting a terrorist: Recoil.

Even though I DO NOT smoke, I will have to agree with Cfalk that the cold turkey method works best. I heve observed some ex-smokers and most of them quit using this method. Nicotine patches and gums are im my opinion, a scam. If it wasn't enugh that ciggarette companies are taking advantage of people with their "products", companies claiming they want to help people quit are charging $40 + for a box of their stuff. If any of you want to quit, follow Cfalk's it like a man and good luck, someday smoking will be viewed as a thing of the past. I hope.Enough have died.

Just look at the new health warnings on cigarette packages in Canada. DISGUSTING!! These color labels that take up half the face of the pack.
Here they are:

Ok, the one that smoke is not me,(of course!) Smile/happy/getting dizzy , but my father, he smoke almost a pack a day and he got in hospital before, as CPDC10-30 said, it's impossible for him, 90% of his friends if u have any other advice, please drop me a note...

Those adds are disgusting. In oz we have the generic big labels like:

"Smoking Kills"
"Smoking can harm your baby"
"Smoking causes Lung Cancer"

etc etc.

Then we have the disgusting television adds that I won't go into detail about.

They also tax cigarettes here very heavily and ban smoking everywhere.

I don't particularly care if people smoke so long as they don't blow it in my direction. There are just as many more addicitve habits besides smoking that cause disease and death.

Eating the wrong food.
Taking illicit drugs.
Unsafe sex.
Excess Alcohol.

To name a few.

Hi All.

My father was smoking for 40 years, pack or two a day. last summer he went to hospital for surgery (dont know the english name for that thing, but nevermind), my mother asked doctor if he can tell my father that he cant smoke one month after surgery. It works  Smile he was so scared that he quit smoking for good!!!

I'm smoking pack a day and I'm not planing on quiting. I dont have good reasons to quit. Reason that I will have lung cancer or other shit in my body doesnt scare me. I just dont care what will happen with me.
