The Camaro, Firebird, Trans Am is a fast piece of junk. In my opinion the looks are marginal at best.
The car rides like someone installed steal bars where the shocks were supposed to be. The ride is brutal. So brutal that it rattles like a baby's toy.
The fit and finish are poor, but no worse than any other Chevy automoblile.
The interior is plastic and seems....well like plastic.
The seats are unsupportive. The car is overweight. The engine is hidden under the windsheild rendering the eighth plug unremovable unless you take off the header.
The rear axle is solid beam not good for much of anything especially handling.
The engine is a dinosour with it's internal cam as is the Vettes.
The chasis is torrsionaly weak. The front end is cheap McPherson strut. The stearing is overboosted.
Should I continue. I've driven them and wasn't impressed other than the fact it was damn fast in a straight line. It needs refinment it will never get.
Drop by a BMW dealer and ask for a test drive in a new 325Ci with a sport package. Everything will fall into perspective for you then.

It's the fastest production car in America until the ZR1 came along, and then the Viper. And they were just marginaly faster.
The car is put together like shit. It's heavy, doesn't handle all that well even though it's suspension was designed around handling.
But I understsnd what it is. It's faster than I can describe here without using lots of profanity.
My 2000 BMW is an infinetly better car. Silent inside at all speeds. The legendary BMW brakes and steering. Not a rattle to be heard. Amazing handling with it's 50/50 weight distibution. Smooth 5 speed and clutch. Rear wheel drive with posi. Everything about the BMW is better. Except the acceleration.
Where are all the racing Camaros? I see plenty of Vettes, BMW's Audis, Vauxhauls, and Acuras in the touring circuit races.
While the quality has increased in the F body it is has remained stagnant in order with other manufacturers. Everyones quality is getting better. The bar is raised when another manufacturer introduces a new model with better fit and finish.
I rent all the JUNK american cars when I go away on vacation every month. I have hated everyone of them. Especially the Pontiac Grand Am's and Grand Prixs. What horrible cars !!!!!!!!!!
Some people may buy BMW's or Benz's for status but that's not the whole picture. These people are buying the car for all the wrong reasons.
I had just arrived in Germany and was getting on the Autobahn. I was on the on ramp merging, and I was thinking to myself, "shit 2 frickin lanes? This can't be the Autobahn" I was now going to have to find my way off and find the right directions. When all of a sudden an E430 passed me doing about a buck 50.
Don't be mistaken. Mercedes are high speed touring cars designed for speeds well over 100 miles per hour on a routine basis. They are bad ass cars make no mistake. Alluminum cylinder blocks and heads. The general population has a weapon of war and they have no idea what it is capable of.
The European manufacturers have two models of each car. The softened US bound cars with softer springs and shock settings, and then they have the cars that are to be used in europe.
Ever hear of the BMW M5. It's no joke. 5.0 liter 394 HP V8. 275/35/18 rear tires. 235/40/18 front. 13.6 inch front brakes. 6 speed manual trans. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, and the quarter mile in 13.3. By the way if you didn't know its a 4 door familly sedan.
