Y2K Parephernelia

Fri Feb 23, 2001 2:53 am

I was just wondering if any of you have held onto anything directly related to the now passed year 2000 milennium. Does anyone think that these items will go up in value as time goes on, or will that be a time that will be forgotten?

I assembled a box filled with all kinds of Y2K and 01/01/00 items in it, most items I paid less than $20 apiece for.

Items include entire newspapers from 12/31/99 and 01/01/00, 2 Budweiser "Milennium edition" beer bottles (still sealed), lapel buttons, pens, pencils, various stationery, paperweights, t-shirts, sports bottles, key chains, party favors, etc etc etc.
As we all know, Y2K was one of the most capitalized on events in history.
Many people bought expensive jewelry, wine glasses, and other high priced items to commemorate the occasion. No doubt that they are now tucked uselessly away in safe deposit vaults.
But how many people bothered to hold on to Happy New Year 2000 party hats that were never worn?
I did, hoping that these "disposable" items will be the ones that are most sought after in years to come.

So will my investment pay off in time, or am I stuck with a box full of junk?

I have Norton Anti Virus 2000  Big thumbs up
I also have this freeware software I got off of that checks for Y2K problems. I doubt it will be worth much, I'm wishing for my Superbowl 2000 Coke bottles to be worth something though!

I've got the Polish newspaper Millenium edition where on the Millenium section is my picture with that girl from hooters and article where I will spend New Years Eve.

Unfortunatelly my girlfriend saw that newspaper (that newspaper is very popular in Poland and popular where Polish people live in US like NYC NJ IL CT etc.). She dumped me 2 weeks later hehehe She was the best girl I ever had.
I will scann that tonight and post it here
