Trashing Your Schools... (Canada)

Thu Apr 05, 2001 11:15 pm

I rarely start a topic but I'm starting one now.
For those of you who are in Toronto, Canada... you know the public school workers are in a strike. That's pretty common in Canada. But why some vandals (probably students) begin to trash their schools? Do they think they have a divine right to do that? It happened before when the teachers strike. I really cannot understand this. Do people have any respect to their schools?

They are being encouraged by the striking workers to vandalize property...to the point where the schools will have to close.

I find that very stupid, destroying property. They are taking away their own education by destroying the school. I'm in Markham, so i got no strike here, but if there was one, I would not take part in that. It is just completely stupid, regardless of whether or not i support the workers.
