eh..if I knew the answers to all these questions, I'd cut down on the aviation related films.

I think nr 10 is a F-14 Tomcat. ( He might have flown the A-4 though, not sure.)

Here are my guesses...

KC-135? He's a bit old to have flown the KC-97

The American team fly a "Wright Biplane". In reality it was a reproduction of what type

Curtiss JN-4?

3. From the movie Midway

What type of Aircraft did Charlton Heston fly?

SBD Dauntless... he survives, right? He has to have flown the Dauntless, because the TBDs get wrecked by the fighters.

4. From the movie The Great Escape

What type aircraft did James Garner attempt to fly out of Germany with?

From the book, I think that this was an ME-109

5. From the movie Airport

What airline did George Kennedy(Joe Patroni) work for?

6. From the movie High Road to China

What type aircraft did Tom Selleck fly?

UNKNOWN

7. From the movie Good Morning Vietnam

Robin Williams flew into Nam on a DC-8 operated by ___________

Braniff?

8 and 9 from the movie Air America

Robert Downey Jr crashed a ________ Into a ___________

There's a C-123 Provider in the movie and it gets crashed but I don't know into what.

10. From the Movie Top Gun

Viper flew what type Aircraft

A-4 Skyhawk

I think I am going to keep this post up over the weekend to see if we get some more hits

As far as answers go.....

I am not going to say who is in the lead with the most correct answers but.......

We have had so far 4 questions answered correctly and three that I consider near misses....One of those I am going to double check before I post the answers.

But I will pass this information on to FlyBoeing....Heston was killed in the movie Midway

To those of you who haven't answered yet....Please take a guess and see how you do.

Well guys it looks like my attempt at trivia is a bust this time....

Any thoughts about making it a multiple choice next time.

Anyway here are the answers:

Richard Dryfuss flew tanker 57. What type of A/C was tanker 57.

A Douglas B-26(or A-26 if you prefer) converted for Firefighting

2. From The movie Those magnificent men and their flying machines

The American team fly a "Wright Biplane". In reality it was a reproduction of what type

A Bristol Boxkite....circa 1911

3. From the movie Midway

What type of Aircraft did Charlton Heston fly?

A Douglas SBD Dauntlass

4. From the movie The Great Escape

What type aircraft did James Garner attempt to fly out of Germany with?

A Bucker BV-181 Bestmann
The fixed gear is the givaway

5. From the movie Airport

What airline did George Kennedy(Joe Patroni) work for?

TWA
The fictional airline that was featured in the movie was Trans Global

6. From the movie High Road to China

What type aircraft did Tom Selleck fly?

Tiger Moth
Another one of the close answers

7. From the movie Good Morning Vietnam

Robin Williams flew into Nam on a DC-8 operated by ___________

United

8 and 9 from the movie Air America

Robert Downey Jr crashed a ________ Into a ___________

8 Pilatus PC-6 Turbine Porter
9 Fairchild C-123K

10. From the Movie Top Gun

Viper flew what type Aircraft

Viper (played by Tom Skerritt) flew the A-4
I suppose that techincally we could say that he was also qualified in the F-14 because he offered to be Mavericks back seater after Goose was killed. But he never flew it in the film

For those of you who took guesses I hope you had fun and thanks for participating.

I don't know one of these movies, except Top Gun, which I've heard of, but I don't know it.
About Top Gun I thought they're flying Tomcats, but now I see USAFHummer saying A-4. I don't know, as said above I didn't see this movie.
