744 Of Airliners.net's Logo

Sat Apr 14, 2001 8:12 am

Does anyone know which aircraft this is? Is the original photo anywhere in the database?

It appears to be a 747 in the old NW livery, but modified to show a runway centreline reflected on the belly.

Could it have been N661US, the first 747-400?

Winglets = MD-11

One of the main differences between a DC-10 and an MD-11 is that the MD-11 has winglets.

4 Engines+winglets=744

Sun Apr 15, 2001 6:46 am

This aircraft has four engines, not three. Guess you're on the wrong site.  Wink/being sarcastic Or I guess you meant something different.

No, I was just explaining the differences between the DC-10 and the MD-11, since you guys were talking about the differences between the 741/742 and 743/744

743 doesn't have winglets.

If the winglets are so good why don't every plane from now on have they?
I guess all Airbus planes have winglets, even if they are very small ones.

I think they should update it to an A380 or at least a 747-400 in a decent and current livery

Hey Scotty,

Why fix it if it ain't broke? A change from time to time would be nice but I guess it is a lot of work for little.

Kind Regards,
