New Air Force One

Mon Apr 16, 2001 8:34 am

The actual Air Force One(I guess there are two) is a 742.
When do you think that the U.S. are gonna replace it?
What aircraft do you think it's gonna be?
Guess what country will they visit first with the new plane.

I would like to see the american president flying a A380 as the Air Force One, but it's quite sure that will be another Boeing, at least another american aircraft in 2010. I would love to see the Air Force One at Rio's International(GIG).

It would be funny if it was an A380 or A340! Althought all odds are it will not happen, I'd say a 777 would fullfil the job really good!

It will not be replaced for a while. The current aircraft (VC-25) are about 10-11 years old. They still have plenty of useful life. The VC-137's that proceded them served for 30 years, so it will be a while til a replacement comes. Odds are it will be an aircraft that hasnt even been on the drawing board yet.

I was going to post it there but I was drunk so I posted here.... Smile
Then I posted it there 'cos it's related to aviation and this is a non-aviation forum

The AF1 aircraft have many advanced systems from the -400 series, but a modified (rather hevially) -200 airframe.

Air Force One will be a A380 the day the French president flys a Boeing as his own transport!

The French indeed used to have Boeing aircraft for the presidential transport, they now use A310...as does Canada.

I'd love to see Bush flying around in a 777 or 744.
