I don't have a favorite... some I like, some I don't.

Beethoven's Fifth Symphony is cool, as is Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11.

A great alternative to modern music played at insane volume.

Wow so many good songs put up here so far...

1812
The fifth
The Brandenburg concertos
Kleine Nachmusic.

I would have to add Wagner...Specifically the Ride of the Valkyries. I can just hear the hueys in the background

I have just picked up some Pokeriv(SPL. I don't have the album cover). I think I like songs with that strong sound such as the 1812, ect.
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

Could it be Lt. Kije Suite, Op. 60 by Sergei Prokofiev.

Tchaikovsky: The Nut-Cracker Suite (especially "Dance of the Sugar Plum fairy" Big grin ).

Anything by Dvorak (esp The New World Symphony).

I'm not an expert on Classic Music, but I do often tune in either "Classic FM" or "Jazz FM", whilst driving here in the UK.

Gershwin,

Three Preludes,
Rhapsody in BLue
An American in Paris

(Though some would argue that Gershwin is truly "Classical.")

I'm really more of a Celtic type though.

"Classical" is really much too broad a term.

For the most part, my favorite music is from the Baroque era.

Most anything by Vivaldi---The Four Seasons and his various violin concertos and flute concertos come to mind.

From Bach:
B Minor Sonata.
Brandenburg concertos
Badinerie from Suite in B Minor

Additionally:

--Telemann Suite in E Minor

For more modern pieces:
--Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky (finished by Rimsky-Koraskov).

--Morceau de Concours by Fauré

Beethoven's 6th Symphony- for any hard-core Simpsons fans, it's in the episode when Itchy and Scratchy are redone to be nice, and the kids go out to play.  Smile

Symphony No.3 in C minor for organ and orchestra by Camille Saint-Saens. The organ passages in the final movement are pure power and rival anything JSB ever wrote. And that's some praise for a Frenchman coming from a Brit. Also the piano concerto no.2 in F by Dmitri Shostakovich is superb.
