I went to the National College Fair on Tuesday at the World Trade Center in Boston, and I spoke with the guy representing Embry-Riddle. He said that for non-Engineering programmes the acceptance is a 2.5GPA and around a 1000 on the SATs. For Engineering programmes, a 3.0GPA is necessary, as well as a 1200 on the SATs.

I take my SATs on Saturday, and luckily for me standardized testing is my strongest area, so I may have some luck afterall.

The least anyone should get on an SAT is 1000. No excuses.

However, to be considered for reasonably selective prgrams/schools etc... a 1200 or higher is preferable.

Students at Harvard routinely get perfect scores (1600) and a very large portion of the class is above 1500.

good luck

Never took the SAT. My university preferred the ACT but still had a formula for using the SAT though. They would take either test score and plug it into a formula with your high school G.P.A. and then figure out if they'd admit you. They way I figure it, you'd have to be a total f--king idiot not to get admitted to my university. But it's a big public university and they could care less if you fail out after the first semester.

So, you're saying that everyone should be above average, without excuses? Hmm... No wonder you go to Cornell.  Big grin

(Scoring 1000 is 50th percentile under the current SAT grading system.)

Ok, I don't mean to be elitist (it did come off that way, I'm sorry), but scoring 1000 is easily achievable and where all american students are expected after investing 3 years into a legitimate high school. So, yeah many kids don't get 1,000, but one would hope that is because they either didn;t care about the test, were lousy lousy students, or were smart students who didn't invest time in learning and knowledge, and for that yeah there is little excuse.

kinds regards

As long as you have the money to pay the bill don't worry about admission....

The colleges have bills to pay to and they can be some greedy SOB's. Which explains the parking fees at most schools.
