Canadian Pilot Joke

Once upon a time... there were three guys, much like the now famous Larry, Daryl, & Daryl, who were going to go on a fly in moose hunt in the majestic woods of Canada.
They arrived at the outfitters, their gear was loaded onto the plane, and off they went to some of the finest moose hunting areas in the world. Upon landing, the pilot informed them that he would be back in a week to pick them up. He wished them a safe and successful hunt and prepared to depart. As he climbed back into the plane, he left them with these final words "I wish you all the luck in the world however, please remember that with all of your gear, if you should happen to be fortunate enought to all get a large bull, we will only be able to carry one, possibly two racks back with us. The plane will NOT be able to get off the lake with all your equipment and 3 large racks. you will have to sort out which ones go back with us and which get left behind." And, off he went.
Well, of course as luck would have it, all three hunters were fortunate to take trophy size bulls during the week. When the pilot returned to pick them up, he was more than slightly annoyed to find that the hunters had all their gear ready to be loaded as well as all 3 sets of antlers. The pilot loaded the equipment first and then proceeded to remind the 3 hunters that there was no way they could take back all three racks. Especially, ones of this size. He explained that he was sorry that such trophies would have to be left behind but there was no way around it.
The hunters all hugn their heads in disappointment and said that they were sorry to have not heeded the pilots original words but they just could not bring themselves to leave behind such beautiful racks. After all, the pilot who flew them in last year had allowed them to load all the racks in a plane just like this one and they thought perhaps this year their pilot was just being overcautious.

Well, these words had a somewhat calming affect on the pilot. He imimediately left the group and could be seen apparently deep in thought gazing knowingly out over the waters of the lake, occasionally glancing at the aircraft and then back at the lake.

After several minutes of quiet consideration, the pilot returned to the group and uttered those words that have haunted aviation since the Wright Brothers, "Well guys, if that guy last year could do it, I don't see why we can't. Let's get these horns loaded."

So, the racks were loaded and everyone climbed aboard and strapped in. The pilot thoroughly and methodically went through all his preflight preparations. He did a fair amount of high speed taxiing to create some chop on the water to help break the surface tension and then yelled, " Hang on boys, here we go!"

The plane took off down the lake like the little engine that could. Finally, as the trees at the end of the lake grew bigger and bigger, they were able to break the surface and ever so slowly began to climb. Just as they were about to clear the trees at the end of the lake the lights went out.

When the pilot awoke, he found Larry, Daryl, and his other brother Daryl all casually gathering up their hunting equipment that was scattered about the crash site. The pilot struggled to his feet and embarassingly inquired if everyone was alright. They all seemed to be relatively unharmed and in surprisingly good spirits. The pilot then proceeded to plead for their forgiveness and along with his apologees admitted that it was all his fault.

Larry responded with the unexpected and surprisingly lighthearted words, "Lighten up man, you did great! You got us at least a mile closer to home than that guy last year!!!"
