here in north NJ its about 1.70-1.75/gal 87 Octane. I just noticed the price jump up about 7-8 cents in one day. It's ridiculous. I rememer 2 years ago it 87 was 83 cents/gal. Right about now I wish I wasnt driving this SUV. Pretty soon its going to stand for Sitting Unused Vehicle if these prices keep going up daily...

Since I commute alot between LAX & HII, I paid $1.66 for 87 octane at Arco in LA, and in Havasu I paid $1.59 for the same grade, again at Arco. And I drive a little Chevy Metro to get the best mileage out of all my vehicles. Regards.

In the Montreal area it is 86.9¢ a liter for regular which is around 2.10$ US for a US gallon. But we have big variations from day to day. Usually the price goes up by 6 or 7 cents a liter on Thursday (pay day) to go back to its starting point penny by penny. The trick? Fill up the tank on Tuesday evening. This way you don't get the bad surprise. Of course, sometimes it does not work but it does most of the time.

HEre in College Station, TX:

87 Octane is about $1.53/gallon.

Relatively cheap, of course, we drive a whole lot more in texas because everything is so spaced out you can't walk anywhere and there isn't public transport.

About 1.65 in Dallas. What a scam.

Still a bargain compared to most other places. Sure glad I chose not to live far from where we work.

I flew to Atlanta last weekend. The gas average price are 1.40 to 1.50/gal. I live Chicago price avg 2.03 to 2.09 out of subrubans avg 1.97 to 1.99. It's going down prices keep fingers across. Remember holidays always a little price go up and after holidays will go down a bit more.

All I know is that a certain owner of a Texaco in a town here in Long island decided he would sell gasoline for $.99 That's right, 99 cents/gallon, until he sells a certain amount of gas. People with mostly SUVs were in line for 30+ mins...

Here in Silicon Valley the price of gas for 87 Octane unleaded is anywhere between US$1.90 to US$2.05 per US gallon.

Good thing I drive a Honda Civic HX CVT that averages 35 miles per gallon per tankful. Big grin

Here in western north carolina its about 1.49 a gallon...although in asheville there is a station selling for 99 cents a gallon...they are swamped on a daily basis. Enmark or something like that. Atlanta better be thankful for their low prices=P I wouldnt want to be driving a 40-70 mile commute on 2 bucks a gallon every day....

beware of gas that is super cheap, as in under $1. It can be a really low quality of gas, in which case it will be used faster and won't save you anything, or it could be watered down.

Here in good old San Jose/Los Gatos CA, lowest price gas from the shittiest gas station is about 2.03/gallon. Really killing me, I drive a Mustang Cobra which requires 92 octane, I'm pumping about 2.30/gal.

Thing is, we can afford it Big grin. Remember, we don't pay motorway tolls, our road insurance is cheap etc. One of the aims of having expensive petrol is to encourage people to use gas guzzling cars less, thus causing less pollution.

Someone out there better check their arithmetics!
A recent study (3-4 weeks ago) in a major Norwegian newspaper put Norway among the top 5 European countries concerning expensive gasoline.Italy was there too, possibly on top,I don't remember. When I rented a car in Italy in April, the gas cost me 25,000 Lire for a litre. That's about USD 1.30 or thereabouts.Considering the US Gallon to be approx. 3.6 litres, this would be some 4.5-4.8 USD per Gallon.
In the line-up,U.K. had a price of 9.90 NKR/litre,somewhat less than the Norwegian price.USD 6.50/USD 9.00 per Gallon? Not very likely.

Your calculations for UK petrol prices must not be taking into account VAT at 17.5% and also fuel duty. UK petrol is around 90-ish pence per litre in London (US $1.40). Of this, 20 pence is the actual cost of the petrol, the rest is all duty and VAT!
