Your Worst Job?

Sun May 27, 2001 5:48 pm

I've had some bad jobs/employers in my life, but you gotta do what you gotta do in order to make a living. I'd have to say that my worst job was telemarketing. I worked both inbound and outbound. Inbound was bad because people were always calling up and holding me personally responsible for the fact that they didn't get their food dehydrator, diet pills, disco album, etc. etc. I'd have to explain to an already irate customer that we were just an order-taking service and then direct them to the proper customer service number. Outbound was bad because people hate to be called by strangers trying to sell them something. To say that some people would react in a rude or angry manner is an understatement.

Therefore, I am genuinely thankful for the job I have today.

Anybody else care to share their "worst job experiences"?

I had a job in Virginia during the summer (hot and humid!) where my main duty was spreading wood chippings for landscaping. What a awesome job!
