>Er, on the flight I took two weeks back, Horizon served Seattle's Best
Hmmm... actually a commerical prompted me to post that- a Horizon Air commercial about them proudly serving Starbucks. Strange. Maybe the Alaska and Horizon coffees got mixed up (I believe Alaska serves "Seattle's Best").
My mom said last time she flew on United, the Starbucks coffee wasn't that great... probably because F/As don't make it as well as a barista!
As for tasting the difference between different brands... I can tell you who brews it in one taste! I've only been to Tully's a few times (three locations in Belltown and the Denny Regrade) but their coffee tastes almost burnt... as if they roasted it too long. The first time I figured it was a bad batch, but it has always been the same. I can't figure out what people like about it.
Charles, I have to order mine extra hot most of the time, too... it just doesn't stay warm very long if it isn't made HOT. If I stop in the Starbucks in North Bend (rrr...they installed the new automatic machines) on my way to Snoqualmie Falls, I order it extra extra hot....
