Hi Climbout. Well, if you ever find yourself in that position [under a freeway overpass during an Earthquake], you should just get out of your car and run!
Then, once the shaking stops, get back in it and drive away [if there's anything left of it!].
I remember talking with you months ago about that woman who jumped out of a Twin Otter emergency door at 2000 ft, to commit suicide, down in your neck of the woods...Southern California. So I can understand why you would have that particular fear.
Reguarding my fear of lightning, and how it could rob me of a chance to say goodbye, the reason is, I'm a lucky guy when it comes to certain things. Such as having the ability to look up at the blue sky and clouds and just feel real Happy. When it's overcast and dreary outside, I always know that the sky is blue with white puffy clouds up above it.
I know that I will DIE one day [ just like my grandmother did 2 weeks ago ], and when I do, YES, I would like to go quick, like most people, just NOT INSTANTLY!!
I would like to be able to say "goodbye" to the sky and clouds, and then say "helo" to GOD, and let him know that I'll be with him in just a few moments.
