I just have something to say to all the people that hate VW's just answer this quesion why? for the price of a rice rocket (honda) you can smoke them and then some if you are on a budget and you want buy a fast car get an A2 or A3 GTi they are perfect for you. For a little $$$ you can make a fast car go even faster I recomend to anyone the GTi VR6 its the best car you can buy for your money even stock the car runs around 14's on the quarter mile A stock VR6 can smoke a stock Civic SI running 100 shot nos. So as I said before why not like VW's?

VWs are cool  Smokin cool. I agree, the new VWs look sharp, especially the new Bug. We just got a almost-restored late 50's Beetle not too long ago to finish up restoring, and it's a fun car. We haven't had it too long, though so we're not sure what's its really like.

I hate them because the 1990 Golf I used to own was a buck of cr@p.

All that stuff about "German engineering"? Give me a break.

Honda, on the other hand, does know how to make a car that lasts. You couldn't kill a Honda engine if you tried.

Go ahead, try!

Its easy to screw up a honda engine I streched the O rings on the cilinders without even trying, and a thing about german engineering is dont let the American VW's ruin the image of VW's because the VW's in america are made in mexico thats why, but they still are nice fast little cars that smoke rice rockets.

Anybody but me miss the air cooled engines that the original van and the beetle had?

You could rip those babies out and come up with a fairly decent airplane or airboat engine.

Don't forget that VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Lamborghini and Bugatti are the same company. So there are similarities between the Audi A3 and VW Golf. My guess is that the VR6 is similar to the S3. But it is a damn nice engine!

However, I am a committed fan of Japanese cars myself.
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?
