I will admit, I feel I don't fit the profile of a true "Southerner". There are a lot of texas accents(which I can't stand, and I don't have one thank God), but when you go into a major city like Houston,Dallas,Austin,San Antonio, you really don't hear that many accents. Also, there are a lot of rednecks, but they are all out on farms and those areas. A lot also like car racing(ugh, which is another sport i don't like) but as I said you would find most of those people on:
fixed income(just seems that way)
living in the suburbs.
I am not discriminating, in Dallas, it feels like they all live in the suburbs up in far north dallas. It also seems that more discriminating goes on up there.
Or living on farms and prairies.
I really don't know about Houston or Austin, but Dallas is fairly cosmopolitan, and you really don't find any rednecks and people of that type. Dallas, and I assume Houston and Austin, are big cities with lots of business and technology on the rise. And to be honest, I really don't understand how people say,
"People who live in Texas are cowboys"
I have even had people ask me what the name of my horse was. I don't even have a horse! The only animal I have is a dog. I forgot where I heard this, but supposedly, Dallas has more strip clubs than any other city.
Give me a break, I created this username when I was a kid...
