I went on a taping of "Talkback Live." I was hoping to get on TV, but the topic was so damn boring that I just sat there and slouched instead.

In Cleveland I was on the local news (channel 8??) as they were doing a special on a local park and wanted to know what our opinion was of the park.

In Hawaii I was on the news on New Years Eve in Maui because a local news station was highlighting the celebrations around the islands.

In Orlando I was in the news as I walked passed a camera and reporter doing some sort of story in the airport.

In Niagara Falls a Discovery Channel guy was filming on the Maid of the Mist while I was on the boat on a class field trip.

However, I have never actually seen myself on T.V. because I live in Pittsburgh!

I was at a filming of Oprah and appeared on the camera a few times. My church is also on TV and I have appreared on camera. I want to point out that I have been to a few Hollywood tapings (only because I was invited) and they are BORING!! They do the same scenes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and STILL expect the audience to laugh just as hard.

I have been on the local news many times.

Mostly because our next door neighbor is a News Caster for our cities tv station. A CBS station. When she does family related topics she tells the newscasters to call us first to see ask if we can be taped for somthing. The last one was for Jet Ski safety. Since we have jetskis they taped me riding and cathing air off other boats. LOL, that is exactly what they were telling people not to do.

I have been on TV 3 times to my knowledge, and seen tapings of two of those times.

The first time, I was at the UN in NYC with my grandparents and CNN interviewed me for some reason...it was in 1994, I dont remember why

The second time was about 3 years ago, the local news station covered a charity event at my school and I was interviewed for that

The third time was in April at the Pennsylvania Academic Competition in Harrisburg. I was there and it was televised on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.

174thFWff:

I was on one of those ABC news briefs as a special guest to Disney Quest before it was open to the public. I was filmed doing some pinball thing and put in that special slot in one of those "coming up: blah blah blah Disney Quest blah blah blah some more" type of things.

Oh yeah, I was almost in Sports Illustrated once. The photographer took a picture of Richard Matvichuk checking a St. Louis Blue in Game 1 of the 2nd round of this season's playoffs, and while my dad was in the photograph, I sitting one seat over, was blocked by Matvichuk's face.

I don't know if that actually got up on TV but Net TV was filming a part of Poetry on Gozo which I attended, so I might be in the background.
I haven't seen it but I was on TV: I got filmed while playing table tennis.

Oh yeah, I was on NBC once as well this February, I was at a Knicks-Heat game in Miami, our seats were really good-first row, sitting really close to Jimmy Buffett...he got kicked out of the stadium by the refs for cursing off at them, and to get out he had to walk past our seat and the camera apparently panned over me and my dad many times as he was escorted out-friends told this to me in school a few days later...

My picture and my dads picture was also in the New York Times for this the next day...in the background of the shot you can clearly see our heads

3 times, and I wasn't just in the background either  Smile

1996- I was on the Sally Jesse Raphel Christmas show, and I played an elf giving presents to children in need.

1997- I was on the Sally show again as an elf with my best friend.

1998- I was on the Sally show and I held up a number. The topic was something like "Different People", and it was a woman with a very high pitched voice. A clip of her talking was on there, and the audience had to guess which person holding the number (Me and my two best friend) spoke.

CBS was at my school once talking to our principal. I was in the background. Big thumbs up

Once I was walking to the store and the awning (sp?) blew off of a building in a strong gust of wind. I saw it, and when I was comming back, NBC was there and I got to be on the 6:00 news. Big thumbs up

Yes, on the news a couple of times. One time they caught me coming back from exercising and I was all sweaty and gross. How embarassing, I looked awful. I was also at a concert where HBO's "Real Sex" was filming, but luckily I didn't get on the show.

Well teh first time was in 1994 in Chicago, two friends and i went to be in teh studio audience of a taping of the Jenny Jones show......I was able to get Jenny to come over so I could ask a question to the panelists on the stage....It was cool....They used my question on the air (i have it videotaped) And one of my friends that went with that time had a neighbour that sadi she say ME in a Jenny Jones commerical down in Atlanta GA...

The most recent was when I showed up On Friday June 1st for the very last Northwest Airlink Flight out of Rockford Illinois. I was interviewed by Rockford's WREX Tv station and I spoke my mind as a Pasenger and a Travel Agent letting them know just how much the Airport allegedly tried to keep the airservice and i was on the 5pm, and 6pm news!!!!!.....I have those on tape too......So far that is all....... Smile

I went to a Chicago Blackhawks game and sat in the front row behind the Blackhawks bench. I saw myself on the monitor quite a few times during that game. But I didn't act like it was my first time on T.V. by waving my arms sporadically or naything. I just played it calm and cool. I think I even winked at the camera.

Also, my girlfiend-at-the-time and I went to a taping of the Jerry Springer show and sat on the right side of the stage. Had a chair thrown at our direction from the one of the guests (in anger at the other guest) so I know I was on T.V. then.  Smile

Back in 1978, when I was a senior at Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, TX, Ron Howard (Richie on "Happy Days") filmed a made-for-TV-movie at our school called "Cotton Candy". I was an extra in one of the classroom scenes, the cafeteria scene, and a scene in one of the courtyards. (Lame movie, BTW)

In 1977, the movie "Semi-Tough" starring Burt Reynolds, Kris Kristofferson, Jill Clayburgh and Robert Preston was filmed in the Dallas area. My friend Lauren and I went out to the Cotton Bowl on a Sunday and were in the crowd. We happened to be sitting about 8 seats away from Jill Clayburgh and Robert Preston and they didn't finish filming that day and asked everyone sitting near those two actors to come back the next day and we would be PAID $25.00! (That was a big deal to a junior in high school like me).

Went home and told my parents and they said "Absolutely NOT! You're going to school." (Lauren and I skipped school the next day and went anyway.)

I never did see myself in the movie, but that fall there was a spread in Sports Illustrated about the filming of the movie. One of the pictures was a close-up shot of Lauren and I in the crowd. I was holding up this big poster I had made that said "We love you Billy Clyde" (Burt Reynold's character in the movie) but the poster blocked out my eyes and the top of my head. You could see everything from the nose down, though.

These were my only "brushes with fame".

Oh yea, I was also on tv during the morning news. The Meterologist in DC came to our high school to do a morning weather report and our band was also playing. So the camera guy interviewed some of us and whenever we play, he focus the camera on us. Of course, on me when I played my trumpet solo. Of course, my dad taped it for me.  Smile

In september 1991 some friends and I were at a concert at London's Marquee club, (now sadly no more).
It was a showcase for new bands and was being filmed for BBC2.
We had been on a bit of bender that night, and were out of our heads.
The main band were the then new Welsh rock band called The Manic Street Preachers, to get attention they adopted a rather confrontational attitude with both journalists and live audiences. We had gone to see what all the hype was about.
Anyway, they came on and the place erupted, the group insulted Londoners and there was the usual good-natured throwing of empty plastic beer glasses at the band.
Also, people were getting on stage and jumping into the crowd, pretty common then, (the stage was only 10-15 feet above the audience).
I was well intoxicated, and when challenged to get on the stage and leap off, I did, in full view of the cameras.
Later a camera behind the drummer caught a plastic beer glass I threw bounce off the cymbals and the drummers head.
Still go to gigs, don't do that shit though, I'm a responsible citizen!
And I looked a right berk on TV when it was shown!
