Internet/A.net - How Long Will It Last?

Sat Aug 18, 2001 3:55 am

Hi there,

Now this is something, that has been on my mind for quite along time. As we creep deeper and deeper into the 21st Century, i can't see us still on this website, using email, buying goods on the internet. Maybe its because we've had nothing like this before, and because its been around for very little time, i don't see it lasting.

I just can't imagine, when i'm 20, uploading photo's of the first A380 flight to A.net.

So what do you think, will it be around when we are old and decrepid, or will it just be a dying fad?

regards

Dan

Who knows? Maybe in the future, it will be like Star Trek, or some kind of Virtual Reality..

I have a feeling, though, that whatever happens, A.net will be around in some way or another..

A.NET may eventually grow in a kick-ass travel agency for aviation enthusiasts and others or/and become a training school for photographers, database programers and Web developers. That would rock!

I believe that a.net will be around for some time to come. My concern is that the internet will crash under it's own "weight" far before a.net goes offline.

You have to remember, not everyone has the internet yet. a large percent doesn't have the internet. So we are looking at a long long time before this site goes under.

So Johan, have a fricken kid or 3 before you go to HVN and let them grow up in a airliner loving family so that your kids can take over or somthing! Or just leave the site to me... WOOOO HOOOO

How many pictures will we have then? Maybe 1.000.000? Do you think he'll ever delete today's top-quality shots? Will there be a new size allowed like 2000 pixels width?

I think the internet will last a long time. Down the road it's just going to evolve.

No matter which way it goes the internet will evolve into something..bigger?,better? who knows we will all find out and A.Net will hopefully go along for a ride.

The thing about it is one of these days someone might start a rival site.

N728DL - There are many sites up already, the only thing i can see is that they haven't been up for half as long as A.net, they don't have the following, they don't have the quality of photo's, and if they are going to survive they are going to have to go the way of A.net (only accept very high quality photos) otherwise the site would just get out of control, it would be too expensive to run and if something went wrong it would be impossible to find where and why.

What i can see maybe is A.net becoming a community of smaller websites, each for a specific country/continent in its own language with its own owner/copyrights. This would make the site more user friendly, alot more well managed (not saying your doing a bad job Johan  Big grin) seen as people from the same country seem to have this mutual respect (gawd i can't find the word) with each other.

Regards

Dan
