Sarris Chocolate  Smile

There is a local chocolate company that makes chocolate here in Pittsburgh called Sarris. They make the best Chocolate everything! They have a real cool store/ice cream shop at their factory in Cannonsburg PA that I would advise going to if you ever have a sweet tooth. Their chocolate is sold everywhere and in every grocery store locally, but I dont know where else they sell their chocolate other than in the tri-state area. Does anyone else know about and like Sarris chocolate? It is the best!

Swiss and German chocolate is very good. But the best is Belgian chocolate.
Worst one is sold in Italy, Spain, England and US.

I rate Ritter Sport higher than Milka. Ritter's variety is almost perfect while some Milka's tend to taste artificial.

French brand 'Jacques' used to make my happy days when I was a little boy .

These days I'm fond of 'Côte d'or' white- or milk-chocolate as well as 'Milky-WAY' and 'Cha-Cha'  Nuts .

Traditionally made Belgian chocolate is fantastic, without equal. It is costly but well worth it if you go to a specialist 'chocolatier'.

Swiss chocolate is a distant second.

Anything by 'Cadbury's' or 'Nestle' sucks big time.

Swiss chocolate is absolutely the finest in the world, and yes even better than Belgium. Belgium stole the creamy milk chocolate secret, so this is why they are among the top. But still, Swiss is still better.

My favorite is Lindt & Sprungli milk chocolate, which is the finest in the world.

Absolutely love it. I like white and dark chocolate too.

Hi !!!

BUTTERFINGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some stupid Greenpeace guys wrote a letter to the german health minestry and told them that Butterfinger is made with manipulated peanuts, since that you can not buy Butterfinger here in Germany.

Fuck Greenpeace, they have stolen my favorite chocolate !!!

My favorite now: Ritter Sport with Smarties (at the moment a special here in Germany).

Greetings from Germany

RE:Finland? Do U Like Chocolate & What Brands?

Mon Aug 20, 2001 12:18 pm

Hi again,
I have tried a wide variety of chocolates
from around the world. Unfortunatly I haven't
found a US brand that gave me the satisfaction
I get from German/Swiss brands.
British bars like Cadbury's (not to be confused
with the one sold in the US under the same name,
that one is by Hershey's and tastes very harsh)

and Galaxy is also a classy bar.
I have heard however that Finland has some
great chocolates, can anyone confirm??
I would like to try that.
Kindest and sweetest regards.

I love the Aero bars from England, but my aunt only sends me those once or twice a year, so I have to settle with my fav. normal american bar, Butterfinger. Also: Wahoo bars from Maleys in Cleveland are really good. So are most anything from Garadelhi in SFO.

Hell, all chocolate is good!

The best chocolate is Milka. Lindt is also good, but nothing beats Milka.

The problem with some brands is, that they replace up to 30% of the cocoa-butter with cheap soy oil. That's why they have (very) poor taste and consistence.

There comes also very good chocolate from the Netherlands, I think its called Verkaade which also has a very rich taste.

BA, I don't know if Belgium stole the chocolate secret from Switzerland or vice versa but we have a very long tradition in fine chocolate because the former Belgian colonies in Africa were the main producers of cocoa beans at that time.
Swiss tradition is probably based on their good and plenty milk. But without cocoa they miss an important ingredient for making chocolate instead of cheese  Big grin

Gourmet Choclate: Belgian is my favorite. Then Swiss.

Brand (milk-choclate): in descending order;

Galaxy,
English Cadbury,
Snickers (my favorite hunger-buster)
Bounty

Finnish chocolate is the best!

Swiss, Belgian, German chocolate? Pah... leaves them all in the dust.

The chocolate to get is the Fazer "Blue Bar", aptly titled because it's partly blue. It's just plain milk chocolate, very delicious. The "yellow bar" has whole hazelnuts in it, the "purple bar" has raisins in it, etc. And the price is nice... FIM8.90 (about $1.15) for a 200g bar. While it may seem somewhat expensive, I promise you it's the best chocolate you'll ever have.

DeltaSFO, ILUV767... comments on the Finnish chocolate? I did give you each a bar  Smile

Hi there,
As someone mentioned before,
American manufactured candy bars,
like las they are refered to, here iin the
US, and rightly so, constitute of
of a high percentage of soya substitute
for cocoa, because it's cheaper hence
the fake tatse for those who have tried
other than US manufactured chocolate bars,
those who know "Hershey's" may be the best
what the US produces but sure is nowhere
to compete with import chocolates.
Sweetest regards.
