Why Is It That...

Tue Aug 21, 2001 5:46 pm

There are so many topics on here saying "this is my 500th post, my 1000th, post, ect ect ect", yet when I make a post, facetiously of course, the topic gets deleted. What a bunch of crap. By the way, this is my 988th post.

Maybe someone out there doesn't like you.

I know what you mean. I posted something a few days ago that had a link to a website and it got deleted instantly. I've seen other post with weblinks to it, I don't see why I was the exception. I've even tried deleting my own and nothing happens!

I figure being even the slightest bit offended doesn't govern deletion. It is a misuse of power against the freedom of speech!

Of course one must beware since some countries aren't free speech oriented while the internet is international.

Once I posted a picture of a house to get opinions of market value from you guys and it was deleted. I wasn't really offended and in fact suspected it may get deleted. The reason was probably that it looked like a solicitation. I think weblinks come across that way, so they get whacked. I guess thats the consequences for a spam-free site. That's OK with me. I'm sick of spam. I don't mind getting erroneously deleted once in a while in exchange for that. Also remember, allowing free speech only applies to the government. Private entities can censor all they want. That's THEIR right. We would need to start complaining if our respective gov'ts started telling the admin how to run this site. Then it would be time to Fight The Power!!!!!

It only matters how well your liked here at airliners.net. People used to blow off all my posts. But now, I am happy to say some people are starting to read them.

You are a good man 174filth. I like reading your post and you are indeed a fine conservative. KROC and JetService are good men to follow too. The best thing you can do read Matt D, N400QX, Cfalk and Twotterwrench post. Thay are very intellegent smart rightminded experts. They don't get deleted post because liberals learn from them.

I made a post like that when I reached 500, and it was deleted within minutes.

Still I see more and more of them around.
