Price Gouging At Gas Pumps After Terrorist Attacks

Thu Sep 13, 2001 12:17 am

I was completely outraged when I heard yesterday that prices for gas are skyrocketing after the horrific events in New York and Washington, DC.

I heard on the news that the government has issued a statement saying that retailers involved in price gouging will be punished.

In my opinion, taking advantage of a nationwide situation like this by raising prices to OUTRAGEOUS levels is not only reprehensible, but unpatriotic. THERE IS NO GAS SHORTAGE. Panic and craziness is exactly what the terrorists want.

DO NOT BUY GAS AT THESE PRICES, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!

Precautions Taken In Midwest

Thu Sep 13, 2001 12:24 am

After the initial attack in New York City, Chicago braced for the worst. The ENTIRE CITY was evacuated, with reports of the Loop being deserted. O'Hare was shut down ahead of schedule, the CTA was stopped, schools closed, you name it.

I applaud Mayor Daley for taking such swift action to ensure the safety of the inland empire of the United States, Chicago.

And also, god speed to the two United and two American flights that were lost yesterday, along with the hundreds of thousands of people lost in NYC, WDC, & PIT.

And, may my mom and the rest of the passengers and crew aboard United 945 be allowed to return to the United States from Canada soon.

And to whoever did this, for two hours yesterday, I didn't know whether my mom was alive or not. May you burn in hell.
