Who Actually Believes It Was Bin Laden?

Thu Sep 13, 2001 12:51 am

What a sad day it was, yesterday. And what sad days are still to come, if the anger and hate of the unfairly attacked nation is unleashed upon people too soon - before the investigations have come to a certain conclusion about the identity of the aggressors. Innocent people would suffer greatly, if retaliation occurs at this early, uncertain stage.

And suddenly, that name "Bin Laden" pops up. He must be guilty, right?

Actually, ....

I think it is too soon to blame it on him, or anyone else, specifically. I find it worrying, to say the leasy, how soon the blame finds targets. After the Palestinians (initial suspects) seem to (maybe) be innocent, it comes down to Bin Laden again, as if he was the only terrorist in the world. And I find the bits of information about the investigation so far a bit odd. So the terrorists leave a flight manual for the plane in a van, together with the Q'uran, huh? And two bags that were supposed to be on one of the planes, but did not make it on board, contain fuel calculation manuals for a 767, and measurement equipment??? Is this a joke? A game of "How to frame evil Arab terrorists"?
Put it like this: If someone wants to hijack and crash an airliner, how likely are they to need fuel calculations for their plan? And how likely are they to leave a Q'uran somewhere (after all, when do they need it more than in the hour of their death)? And how likely is it that the random inefficiency of an airport luggage system would leave just their baggages on the ground?

I don't say it wasn't Bin Laden. I don't say it wasn't some Arab fundamentalists. But until some more conclusive evidence has been found, I don't blindly believe it was them, either. So Bin Laden had family members in Boston? So the passenger lists of the planes contain some names vaguely connected to him?
Find the bodies, examine the teeth, do a DNA analysis. Who says it really was them, and not people with incredibly well faked papers? And why are people suspected of terrorism and connections to Bin Laden allowed to fly within the USA at all? Shouldn't every computer reservation system in the world, every passport controlling computer at any airport, have all alarm bells ringing when five suspected terrorists check into a plane under their real name???

Maybe I don't trust the media, or the scarce information available as of now. But right now, it's high time for conspiracy theorists - because things look too fishy and too simple to be true. Maybe in a few years things will look clearer.

So who is actually waiting with their judgement, and who is already absolutely convinced it is a certain group?

Regards

Ikarus

PS: I would not mind if Bin Laden is eradicated - after all, the bombings of the embassies alone would justify that. But I am against blaming everything on him. It is better to investigate more thoroughly, to see whether it really was him behind all of this.

PPS: Anyone else constantly thinking of the movies "Under Siege" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight" when hearing the news? I am.

Nobody that has any say so, is accusing Bin Laden. Bush himself said they would steadfast until they know who is at fault for this tragedy, and act from there.

I would consider the media to be a powerful voice. They "have a lot of say". And all I'm hearing from them right now is "bin Laden bin laden bin laden".

Time to start kicking some terrorist ass! I can't wait until we bomb them back into the stoneage...oh wait, they are in the stoneage. We will see how many of those arab whackos are celebrating when a tomahawk lands in their laps.

I dunno. I smell conspiracy. Even if this might sound outrageous, americans WERE also involved in this. How can the terrorrists get guns onboard without inside help? How can an aircraft get out of its course without beeing seen or without anyone reporting this? How can an aircraft get into Pendagon's forbidden airspace and in pendagon's 'umbrella' without getting shot down immidiately after what happened in NY minutes before?

Someone seems to have put much efford in framing certain people or nations. Who would believe that the terrorrists wouldn't have left their manuals and equipment behind before going to USA? For them, there were simpler ways to destroy these items that take them with them and endanger their long planned attack.

I highly doubt the goverment is telling all though know, they will probably keep it very quiet, attack, and then unleash their findings. I think Bin Laden is who the media have blamed it on, not the goverment.

It is way too soon to point a finger at any one person or individual. I mean, after Oklahoma City, everybody thought it was someone from that area, it turned out to be a domestic terrorist.

How do you know they had guns? No proof of that

For someone or some group who has just spent presumably a long time, meticulously planning in detail and subsequently executing the most horrendous terrorist act of all time, to leave the Koran and volume one of the Ladybird Book of "How to Fly a Big Plane" conveniently lying about in the back of your car just as the Feds are looking for it seems rather a careless and uncharacteristic thing to do.

Ikarus, I hear you.

It must've been the palestinians because they were partying on the streets?

They can party if they want to! why dont you think about the gulf war when americans were partying for bombing Iraq?

"oh wait, they are in the stoneage"
No they(whoever they are) aren't...it took a lot more than a stone age mind & technology to pull off this terrorism....

I think it is just way too soon to jump to conclusions. It's funny how everything seems to piece together so perfectly. As Ikarus mentioned, there was a Qur'an in the car, along with arabic flight manuals. Almost too perfect, almost like a...setup? It could very well be a setup, set at framing the arab nations. It could be anyone really. I am just sick of this propaganda, and sick of the people in this forum who are racist and are anti-arab. some of these comments are disgusting..

5280AGL: "Time to start kicking some terrorist ass! I can't wait until we bomb them back into the stoneage...oh wait, they are in the stoneage. We will see how many of those arab whackos are celebrating when a tomahawk lands in their laps."

That comment was wrong. You need to think before you discuss this. Racism and stereotyping isnt going to get us anywhere.

kind regards,

What I think and what I know are two different things.

And I know very little.

Bin Laden seems to be the most probable perpetrator, but I don't know much about him, and I'm certainly not an expert in international terrorism.

BTW there is no evidence of guns; the reports are about makeshift knives from wooden handles and razor blades, and ceramic knives. You cannot see wooden handles or ceramics with metal detectors, and razor blades in one shape or form are a normal carry-on item for any man (and most women.)

As one expert on CNN said, "you could hijack a plane with toothpicks if you were violent enough."

I believe he did it... he has claimed responsibility for the bombing of the USS Cole. So he is certinaly sick enough to do this.
