I'm sorry, Redngold - prayer does not change anything. While you were praying, me and my friend boris went and donated blood, and so did his cousin. And we also donated some of our money. I think that's gonna do a lot more good than a fucking prayer.

I am just sick and tired of all this religion involved - why don't you take action instead of sitting around and praying all day long?

Just had to let my emotions out...

Just need to let my emotions out, without the profanity!

I am by no means perfect, but in my beliefs, prayer does work! However, we are not asked to stand on the sidelines and just pray. I too have donated blood, money and my prayers!

Please don't turn this post into a flame against religion.

For those of us here in the US, the activities of 9/11 are big in our minds. I had no idea we had a tropical storm go over Florida last week.

I truly feel for the people in Taiwan and will be praying for them. Also, if the need arises, I would donate my blood and money also.

As of Sep 19 0700hrs in Taiwan, Nari has killed 66 people, injured 158, 23 missing.

Recovery works begin in Taipei city as the city just faced the most devastating floods in 400 years history.

Nari has break lots of records, includes:

1) The typhoon that stays in Taiwan for the longest time period (53 hours)

2) Heaviest rainfall (1000mm+ of rainfall in Taipei City alone)

3) The slowest moving typhoon (4km per hour)

4) The only typhoon that stops moving in Taiwan for more than 12 hours

5) First typhoon to cause Taipei's rapid transit system to shut down.

There are other records that I can't think of. There's so many of them.

The freaky thing is that the typhoon's route at first seemed to totally bypass Taiwan. Then it sort of went around in circles, and came back.

Considering the number of "natural disasters" already happened to Taiwan, it's quite heartbreaking (I'm sure there's a better adjective for it..).

But some of us (Taiwanese) also wonder, if this isn't karma from many of us inappropriately seeking profit and consider every other aspect unnessary. That seems to be the prevailing mood from what I've seen... all the learning you should've done but haven't, you pay the price.

Geez that's bloody serious! I hope this will be that last disaster happening to Taiwan in the near future.

How is Kaohsiung doing? Like, I've not heard a thing from my parents about the typhoon. Is Kaohsiung badly damaged as well?
