SUDDEN yeh mate your right. To notice the difference between RAM 32 > 64 on a video card you need to run a stupidly high res like 5000*5000 (find a monitor thatll do this) and you have to run 32bit colour, when it comes to gaming your not going to sit and admire the little difference youll get, only go for the 64mb if you have to some DDR geforce2 cards come only with 64mb.
YKA the ram sounds more like it's PC66 or worse yet EDO 72pin, yes EDO72pin was brought out on P2 mobos in which case I would definatly go for some new ram, I use Kingmax PC-150, kingmax has a lifetime warranty although few dealers actually honour more then 12 months its still good.
Difference between Intel and AMD.
As far as performance goes AMD chips kick the Intel in the pants fullstop.
Build quality, Intel lives up to there quality name the entire chip is high quality where as AMD build very fragile hot running chips. However, I consider them so cheap if I was stupid enough to break one Id just replace it.
I have 15 duron 800 machines and 1 Tbird 1ghz machine at work all with 256mb ram, we run accounting software and they absoultly hoot. alot of problems with this years revision of the suite and the AMD machines are some of the only ones living up, Ive heard other companies Intel machines are dieing after 6 returns, my machines are going for a week and we turn them off on weekends, then again my intel machines dont miss a beat either
