The Tim McVeigh Difference

Tue Sep 25, 2001 6:09 am

I'm getting a little tired with people claiming that Islam is completely innocent of this attrocious crime because Christianity isn't blamed for the OKCity bombing.

DIFFERENCES:

Tim McVeigh DID NOT commit his act in the name of Christianity. Muslim fundamentalists do and often yell the lovely words "allahu akbar" (god is great) before their attack.

Tim McVeigh was an isolated case and did something NO ONE has ever done before with the same motive. Countless attrocities have been attributed to the peaceful religion of Islam over the years and certainly more will come.

Tim McVeigh was one deranged individual with the help of one other guy, Terry Nichols who (while it is arguable) did not fully know what McVeigh was attempting to do.

Our WTC attack was coordinated by a giant Islamic terror network and possibly supported by several governments (some secular and some NOT secular at all).

So stop comparing the two, as a Christian I am offended. Our religion stopped violence against non-believers oh say..............900 years ago and Tim McVeigh never thought what he was doing what get him to heaven or martyred or anything holy like that. Simply politics. Also, he wasn't a goddamn suicide bomber.

That would be very nice if atrocities had stopped back then; But not even the crusades had ended by that time. Much of the worst was yet to come: The inquisition, post-reformation wars, colonialisation, slavery, diverse genocides, discrimination and prosecution of jews which even culminated in the holocaust. And that´s just a deliberate selection of the crimes that were perpetrated in the name of christianity (the holocaust "just" partially).

And all were completely against the spirit of christianity.

It was basically just in the second half of the 20th century that human rights have actually become a real factor in real politics.

So we´re not looking too stellar there.

Which still does nothing to excuse any other crimes!

I am wondering if the WTC/Pentagon/PA atrocities will shut up the "black helicopter crowd" of militia/vigilantes who fear the U.N. and U.S. Government more than outside enemies. This is the McViegh/Nichols constituency. Send these jerks to the 'stans first as cannon fodder.

The UN is an attempt at world domination and on world government.

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Americans need to be wary of undue influence from them.

Just look at Pakistan and Iran. Currently they are insisting on UN sponsership on what primarily would and should be a US show as far as those terrorists go.

They are attempting to hide their lack of action behind UN action. That is unacceptable.

PANYNJ!@^,

That's good Christians like you that where happy of Appartheid in America just 30 years ago. Did you hear of WASP ?

That has absolutely nothing to do with religion, terrorists could kill for any cause, including fried chicken and lubricated condoms.
They're just crazy. Who cares about their religion ?

Well, of course, fundamental Islam is to blame for the Sep. 11 attacks.
But then fundamental Christianity has more than its own history of shame. As for Tim McVeigh et al, they were all adherents of a "Blame the Federal Govt-hate all minorities-keep America White and Christian" philosophy.
Atheism is Myth Understood.
