If You Had No Parents...

Thu Sep 27, 2001 1:09 am

Then I would not go to school and I would stay on airliners.net all day. Then when I turned 18, I would become a pilot.

Then I wouldn't be born, which seems like a pretty good idea. Big grin

The world would be a sadder place, as I would not be here to cheer it up!

A380, who do you intend to fly for without a full education? Certainly not a major or regional carrier...maybe not even an air taxi.

I barely ever see my parents, so I don't think there would be much change in my life.

Airbus380.....I lost my parents ten years ago. It forced me to grow up in a great big hurry, and I was 30 at the time. I'll gladly give up everything I own to just have 10 minutes with them again. Do yourself a favor..tell them you love them & how much they mean to you. You may not get a second chance. Best regards.

Actually this is a question that I have over time put considerable thought into. Airbus380, this should give you some idea as to why you should value your parents more.

If I found out today that my parents were gone my life would be in disarray. While I no longer depend on them for much financial support I still depend on them greatly for many other things. My parents are the ones who made me who I am today. They are the ones who motavated me to do well in school. They are the ones who helped build my sense of self and my sense of right and wrong. They are, to a large extent, still my connection to a larger world that is still alien to me. What I am saying is that they are a part of me. When they are gone I will lose that part of me (metaphorically speaking), hopefully which I will be able to replace with what they have given to me.

I would be lost. Despite having friends that are much closer, physically and emotionally, than my parents... they provide much of my direction and sense of self.

My life would be disrupted. I would have to deal with not only the emotionally tradegy of it all, but have to deal with the stark reality of trying to bring their lives to a close. Something as a 21 year-old that I willingly admit I am not ready to do.

So heed my words and those of FlagshipAZ... without your parents life wouldn't be nothing but playing Playstation and flying all the time..... it would be very different.

My parents piss me off a lot, and we scream and yell at each other on occasion, but they got seperated a couple of moths ago and I really felt bad about it. I am glad that they are back together now and I'm glad that I have my parents and my little brother.

As much as I say I hate school (mostly because I have to do tons of homework and I have to get up early), that is where all my friends are. And besides, if you didn't go to school and all you did was stay on Airliners.net all day, you couldn't become an airline pilot. You would have no education to become one.

Yea right. You would be able to get a license on the money you make for the next 50 years flipping burgers. That is what you would be doing without a HS diploma.

Well, I'm happy I do have parents because I was born (thanks for that!) and I also get on very well with them, so that's not a problem.
If they didn't care what I did - I'd get a girl to live with me. That's for sure.

I don't have my parents next to me (they're in Caracas, Venezuela... I'm in Mexico City)... I'm 34 & be sure: I really miss them so much!!!!

Some guys can say "That's so great not having them next to you"... but do you know?: they're getting older (as me of course), sometimes you start to think about not enjoying their company... .

Anyway... I'm what I am because of them, I love them a lot... but being so far away is a great experience... sometimes it's better to miss them than hate them!!!!!
