Disk Clean Up Programs...

Sat Sep 29, 2001 12:50 pm

Anyone know of a good program that will help me clear up space on my hard drive? I seem to have a lot of pieces of programs that I deleted a long time ago laying around my hard drive. My brother in law was telling me of a good one, but I cant seem to remember and hes not home. Any help appreciated.

Norton

To start out with I would highly suggest getting Norton System Works for your PC. It is a generally useful all around package, plus has Norton Anti-Virus as well. It'll do a fair bit of clean up and optimization, but mostly you will need to go through by hand in windows explorer and look for empty folders that were used by old programs. And if you computer is really a mess I suggest scrubbing the drive completely.

If you have a few hours to spare, I reccomend a full reformat and reinstall...its worth it not only to free up space but your pc will run a lot faster.
