It's pretty nice, but the old E30 is still number 1.

I prefer the old one!!! That's not a real looking
Bmw! Shit, what have they done in Bayern I
think they where drunk when they designed
the new 7 series :-(

Best regards

I don't really like it, but I guess as everything else, it will eventually catch on.
still think the current 750iL, preferably a silver, looks more aggressive.

but my #1 choice in this category is yet to be challenged in my eyes..
Mercedes S500 with the sport package) or S55.

It doesn't get much uglier than this folks.l...the back end looks like the discontinued Dodge Stratus/Plymouth Breeze....in general it's one of the worst cars from a styling standpoint that BMW has ever produced in my opinion. What disgusts me so much is that the current 3 series can be sooooo noice....and then they go and turn out something this hideous.

I totally agree with you Carloca Canuck and I was always
a big Bmw fan especialy the 7 series! I drove a 89 model
for 3 years and loved that car but what they did now is the
most ugliest limousine what they ever produced!

Fellas!!!!

Look at that car again, its remarkable. It has beautfiul very modern lines. It's euro styling is crisp and it has a very class yet aggressive look. You guys dont buy it?

S500 is too much of a tank. this bimer rocks, if you ask me.

I drive an M5..so I'm a beamer fanatic.
However, I hate sedans that have the shifter on the steering wheel instead of between the seats.
Apparantely the 'tree' shifter handles about a dozen functions in the car.
It looks horrible.

The rear of the 2002 BMW 7-Series reminds me of the 2nd Generation Infiniti Q45.

I'm sure that technically it is a great car, but as far as the styling goes, three words come to mind.

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly

The front end is OK, but a definite step backwards from the beautiful 3 and 5 series. The back end looks like something off an old Subaru or Plymouth. This does not belong on a BMW and will not age well!

It is not in the same class as the Mercedes or the Jaguar. I bet BMW will be working on a restyle of the 7 series long before the normal schedule.

The old 7 series looks way better, like James Bond's car in Tomorrow Never Dies. I wouldn't mind some of the extras that car had though!  Smile

When I saw the first pictures, my first thought was: What ugly car do they want to sell, the bavarian folks in Dingolfing!
But, now, after we´ve had a real new 7 series here at the weekend for a promo-tour (BMW-seller here in Bayreuth), I must admit: In reality it looks much better than on the pixx! Great Car, especially the Edrive-System is great! Like have a PSII in a car. Good job, BMW

Greetings

Chris

Nah, it's nice but it doesn't move me. The exterior is barely passing, but the interior looks like some sort of 80's car. What's with that ugly looking console? If I'm paying over $50K for a car, I wanna see shiny lighted buttons everywhere, I wanna see something digital looking, with hi-tech controls everywhere. I want it to look and feel like I'm rotating a 777 when I burst off the ramp onto the highway!

Hepkat, I'm not sure your familiar with "understated class"?

This thing IS really ugly...i didn't give the rear pic time to load last time....I see resemblances to Rover/Rolls Royce...big, ugly nasty cars. Whats up with that turn signal on top of the headlights? And that "lets copy alpha Romeo" trunk? Ugh.

I already saw the new 7 series BMW in real life and it really does NOT look as good as the series before. Especially I dont like the look of the rear of this car...

it lost something typical....but it is NOT ugly...!!

Call me conservative, but I think BMW delivered a dog's breakfast of a styling job on the latest 7 Series  Smile

In comparison, the MB S-Class oozes class.

Such a stark contrast to the 5 Series vs E-Class contest; the 5 Series looks smart, the E-Class looks like a pregnant cow with demented bug eyes - sorry for the colourful descriptions, MB never integrated the headlights gracefully into the nose of the E-Class, utterly devoid of lithe forms.

Cheers,

Justin

Personally, I don't really like the 7-series too much. I mean, it doesn't really make as much of an impression on me as the S-Class or Q45 did when the current generation came out. I think that, as with the new 3-series, the front end of the new 7 looks like a upper-class Mazda. The back end has the right idea...but it needs a little more refining. The overall shape of the car is nice...a little reminiscent of Audi.

Overall, I'd give the exterior styling/shape a grade of B-/B. However, I think when BMW facelifts this in a year or two, it's going to look a lot better.

Sorry you got M5 envy!! Happens a lot---I love it! I waited over six months to get the color I wanted. Last count I think there are two of us online that own them.
Mine is sterling ..so it's not the real bright silver. But it looks real hot even though it's totally dealer stock.

Only real complaint is the automatic traction control sh*t makes turning on wet pavement real squirrly.

Of course, Superfly will you tell you the whole car is a waste!!!
