I believe the BMW ad came out of a 1978 edition of National Geogeraphic - I can't remember the month off the top of my head.
How about this one for a Nissan Sabre - a hatchback derivative of the Sentra........
Well it would have been better if the two pages were side by side, but I can only do that in an html e-mail - it doesn't want to work here. This was a made for TV ad back in about 1995. The Hercules was hired from SAFAIR and the Nissan Sabre was shoved off the end of the ramp somewhere over the Namib Desert in Namibia. I think three cars were used for the shoot. The weight of the engine caused the first one to plunge straight down, which is not what the director had in mind. I think they eventually sent an engine-less vehicle off the ramp and that stayed pretty much straight and level, as you can see on the second page.
