Civil Protection Where You Live...

Tue Oct 30, 2001 5:17 am

Ok, original topic, wot are the emergency services like where you live? Here in Malta they're reasonably good, I feel quite safe.
Here are some pics...

These are the best ambulances they have, Fiat Ducatos, they also have many old Volkswagens, and several non-standard ones, e.g. one is Canadian, another one looks American...

Fire department sure has cool looking equipment...

Although not really civil protection, this cool vehicle is at Malta International Airport!
So, submit pics of ambulances and fire engines from where you live!

My town is kind of small, and two commerical buildings along with a mall and hardware store.
For our protection area, we have more then enough funds, and we have very nice equpt.

Here is our new engine number 7...

Here is our ambulance A2

Here is our station...

Ok mind you, the pics I posted are from Malta and not Gozo where I live, but despite its small size, Gozo isn't equipped badly, either, the fire equipment is the same (although definitely less), there is just one Ducato ambulance, though, the others are all old VWs which, frankly, could do with replacing, but they hardly do anything than transporting outpatients. The US ambulances look much better than the Ducatos, though, the government could do with a few here...
Considering Gozo has only 1/11th of Malta's population, it's not so bad really. But there's always room for improvement.
