How To Review A Movie?

Tue Nov 06, 2001 7:14 am

As an English assignement, I must review a movie (Kenneth Branagh's 4 hour Hamlet) As it happens, I have to do it for tomorow (missed a few day before my holidays, 1st day back at school was today, so I was given it for tomorow) Since I don't have the video, nor 4 hours of time to watch it but I definitely have to write something, I will use my current knowledge of the play.

Only 1 problem, does anyone have any idea under what headings I could review it under? (such as plot and so on) Never really done a movie review before.

I would really like a reply in the next 1-2 hours. Thanks a million.  Smile

umm... you can't write a good movie review based on what you remember of a play. There are things such as cinematography, sound, lighting, etc that are quite important in a review of a movie. I think the ONLY thing you could outline is plot, and that wouldn't be much of a review. You need to deconstruct the movie to write a good review and that is, well, impossible if you have never seen it.

Good luck!
