Your Dream Car?

Sun Nov 18, 2001 1:51 am

Hello,

What is your dream car?

I guess mine would have to be the Ferrari Modenna:

1967 Chevrolet Corvette...a convertible, fire engine red, 427 cid engine, 4-speed on the floor. Twice I passed up the chance to get one due to lack of funding. Now I'm hoping the third time might be the charm.  Wink/being sarcastic Regards.

Depends, if I could have any car it would be a Audi, BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche.

Realistically I would like an Acura EL, VW GTI, or VW Jetta 1.8T.

BMW M3, with the M5 coming close behind.

Whistler- I agree with you on the GTi, (although I would take it further and get a Golf4motion), but only a 1.8T? Why not go for the Jetta VR6?

Apparently there isn't much of a performance difference between the 1.8T and the Vr6, and with some mods a 1.8T can actually out perform a VR6. That is just what I read on some VW forums and car sites.

One thing though is that you void your warranty if you ad performance chips, so a lot of people like to go with the Vr6 anyway, just in case.

Teahan, yes the 360 Modena/360 Spider is my favourite production car also, alongside the F50.

Dreamexpress, have you seen a Barchetta in person?? They are great with the roof down, but not with the roof up..I like the normal Maranello a bit better personally, but I guess if you can afford a Barchetta you can afford another car for when the weather gets bad..

Didn't we just go through this discussion a couple of weeks ago? I still vote for the 1957 Thunderbird, with the supercharged 312cid Y-Block and 3-Speed manual with overdrive. I'd just love one.

I know I am going to catch hell for this but mine is a 2002 Lincoln Town Car!! Can you imagine a 19yr old kid wanting a Town Car?

>

True, I loved my 78' Marguis, but It is not my dream car, but it is close! I love my T-Bird but I would take the Town Car first.

I really like Lincolns, too. But my "dream car" would probably be a Porsche 550 Spyder, an Aston Martin DB7 or a BMW M5.

Actually, my '96 Tercel does a great job. It's everything that I'd ever want in a car, with the possible exceptions of 4 doors, and cruise control... But maybe a little small for a family car. I look for safety, efficiency, and reliability...

Maybe a Camry later? That's the type of car that I'd get if I made $50,000 or $150,000 per year. I think airplanes are really the only machines worth spending a lot on.

To be honest, I really don't get into cars that much. I'm pretty much an airplane guy.
