Our garage is currently home to some uninvited guests. Seems the rain drove a (very large) family of field mice into our garage. I’m not known to be faint of heart, but I do not like the way the exterminator is dealing with our little problem. Apparently, the most effective way of ridding your garage of mice is with super sticky glue traps. The problem is, these little guys get stuck in the glue and just stay stuck until they die.
I guess that’s suppose to be a nice way to go… Anyway, I realize these stupid mice are pests and they must be relocated or eliminated, but I just hate going out to the garage and seeing these little guys trying with all their might to break free from the glue that ensnares them.
Not to worry, I haven’t cracked
. I just wish there was some other way to get rid of these darn mice. It’s so sad to see these cute little field mice chewing their feet and tails off trying to free themselves.
I think we’ve got about 7 mice stuck in the glue right now. Now if I can just keep my mom (the diehard animal lover of the family) from her attempts of freeing the mice. I keep telling her that she’ll get rabies or something if they bite her. I think she already unstuck 1 mouse and let it go outside – I told her it will just find its way back into the garage and back to the glue.
So this is what I’m up to this fine Friday night. While all my friends are out having fun, I’m home trying to do homework and keep my mother from her humanitarian attempts with the mice.
I love America. I guess that makes me Bush's poodle, but I'd rather be a dog in New York City than a prince in Riyadh.
