Has Anyone Seen "Behind Enemy Lines" Yet?

Sat Dec 01, 2001 3:29 pm

Just curious if its any good. With all the flight test work I did with the F/A18E/F Super Hornet at Pax River, and all the people telling me how shitty it was, they sure do make it look awesome in this movie.

I heard it got 5 stars and is very good. Not sure if that is because the nation is craving a good war movie, or because it really is good!

It was pretty good.

Kinda got annoyed with that missile scene, a LITTLE fake (if a missile strikes your elevator, I DOUBT it will keep going, turn around, and come back atcha...lol).

Also, what's with the two-seater hornets? I know they exist but thougth that they were for training pretty much, and I know the Blue Angels have one. Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess I was under the impression the super hornet was a one-seater, hmmm.

I haven't, and I'm not going to. It will only deepen my disappointment at Hollywood and their pathetic attempts to incorporate aviation (and the military) into their flicks. I know it is going to be unaccurate and unrealistic. Just look at the (armed!) UH-1's flying from onboard the a/c carrier (in the trailer)!

What do you know?! I have seen armed UH-1's in training off the coast of San Diego aboard the USS Kitty Hawk... Gosh I really hate it when people, especially from other countries, act like they know whats going on...  Insane in the US.

Why? Yes.... No movie will be perfect. If you are a peace activist and dont wanna go see this movie, so be it.

Bet you would say Desert Camo F/A18's arent real either...

I will probably see it over Christmas break. It looks like a good movie and I'll be working with the Super Hornet F-18 jets next year. They are also my favourite fighter jets.

I saw it last night and thought it was really good. It was entertaining, exciting, and realistic enough. (Yes, the missile scene seemed a bit farfetched, but that didn't really take away from the movie, IMHO.)

It is so good and very realistic, I saw it last night. The only corny part is at the end when he is shooting at the enemy and sliding on ice. Other than that, it is awesome.

I just saw it today. To say that the missle scene is a little far fetched is the same as saying you will experience a little moisture in the shower. The people around me couldn't understand why I was laughing.
The actor who played the GIB really, really sucked.
On the plus side, it had about 2 minutes of good flying scenes. Gene Hackman gave his recently mediocre performane. Oh, the scene where the satellite is tracking the GIB is also hilarious. About as real as the airplane taking off at the end of Airplane!.
