Don't underestimates those Nigerians. Some of their players can literally do anything with a soccer ball. Nwanko Kanu, Jay-Jay Okacha, Sunday Oliseh, Taribo West etc. Though just as exciting are they, they are also one of the most unpridctable teams as well. One day they are white hot and then the next they are pathetic.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Nigeria pip England for the runners up position. This is how I see each group turning out in order:

Group A: France, Uruguay, Denmark, Senegal
Group B: Spain, Paraguay, Slovenia, South Africa
Group C: Brazil, Turkey, Costa Rica, China
Group D: Portugal, Poland, South Korea, USA
Group E: Germany, Cameroon, Ireland, Saudi Arabia
Group F: Argentina, England, Sweden, Nigeria
Group G: Italy, Croatia, Mexico, Equador
Group H: Russia, Japan, Belgium, Tunisia

What do you think will be the outcome?

Zizou I agree, Nigeria might have a good chance as well. They do have great players.

In Englands group Argentina looks safe, but between England,Sweden and Nigeria it could go any way.

G-KIRAN - Absolutely. I suspect that draw is a nightmare for all the teams in group F. It should be exciting if nothing else.

Just to add some spice, the runners up will probably play France in the 2nd round, and possibly Brazil in the semi. If they get through that lot they deserve to win the World Cup!

I can't make my mind up whether this is a good thing or not. I doubt anybody in England, if they sat down and thought seriously about it, expected England to win the World Cup this time, there's too much against them even before the draw was made. It's a very young side and one that should be at their best for the next World Cup in 2006.

But in that group I really think that any two of the four could go through. If we ignore the "sure, we'll get though" mentality of all of us, I'd love to know what the real reaction to that draw is in each country, whether all four nations are saying "Oh bloody hell, that's a terrible draw" or not.

I dunno. Argentina are overrated IMHO. Sure they won the South American qualifyers by a mile but lets face it - South American football isn't exactly in the form of its life now that Brazil are rather useless. Veron is a poor man's Roy Keane and I don't rate the Argentinian back four. In midfield however, they are pretty good, and up front Batistuta is always, well, Batistuta! I reckon England will beat Argentina, draw against Sweden (as usual!) and beat Nigeria. I don't rate Nigeria much - Kanu couldn't hit a barn door from a yard for Arsenal at the moment!

Anyway, to win the World Cup you have to face the best teams at some time, so whoever gets through that group will be in a great position overall.

Another good thing is that Germany will only face Brazil, France or ARgentina in the final (if they make it that far which I doubt).

B737-700. A good point. The draw seems a bit lopsided don't you think? Most of the best sides seem to be in the same half.
