Taiwan Media Shows A Man Got Burned To Death

Sat Dec 08, 2001 10:38 am

A huge fire erupted at a 11-storey high building in Taipei City on Friday.

There was a 68 year old senior was trapped at the 11th floor. However, Fire department's ladder can't reach the 11th floor, because the maximum height is 10 floors high. And the senior dissapeared in the fire with many residents and fire fighters watching on the ground.

(This 68 y/o senior could not stand the hugh fire and smoke, and fell BACK into the smoking room)

The building was known as "celebrity building" as few celebrities lived in this building. The building failed 8 safety test 3 days ago.

The firefighter who was operating the fire ladder said that with only 4 to 5 meters, he could have save the old man.

However, internet users complaint that Taiwan's TV station continuing to play the same shot of the old man fell back into the fire scene over and over, saying that TV stations are being "CRUEL". They also point out that during the September 11th attack in the US, CNN didn't play the most devastating scene over and over.

CNN doesn't play the "most devastating scene" yet they insist on playing the video of a man falling to his death 80+ stories high from the World Trade Center.

How compassionate of them.  Yeah sure

The guy who reported the fire and the firefighters didn't even know which floor was on a fire.

The guy who reported the fire say there was a fire on the 6th floor, but it turns out that the fire broke out at the 10th and 11th floor.
