A major security operation is now underway in the English Channel.
The cargo ship MV Nisha has been intercepted by the frigate HMS Sutherland and boarded by Royal Marines, after intelligence reports of 'a significent threat to national security'.
The ship, whose largely Indian crew are co-operating with the Marines and anti-terrorist police, is carrying 23,000 tons of raw sugar.
Initial searches have found nothing, more in-depth searches will follow.
The ship last docked in Dibojti (SP), which borders Sudan and Yemen, which has known Al-Queda cells.
MV Nisha was due to dock at Silvertown in East London.
