Fantastic movie - they don't make them like this anymore.

I have the Special Edition DVD, for which they used a newly restored print. It looks so good that it looks like it was filmed just a year or two back - not 40 years ago.

Yes, it is a fantastic movie.

It shows you the history of the Middle East during the French and British occupation.

Something that if you really think it about, isn't talked much about at all.

Regards.

I really liked the movie. I liked it so much, that I wrote my sophomore english paper on his life. It was really fun, the guy had a pretty exciting life.

Cfalk,

I have the SE DVD also. The documentary gives awesome insight into the making of the movie. And yes the DVD transfer is pristine.

Although I only have the VHS, I still think it's visually very impressive. Yes, it's a long film, but very engrossing.

Although a good movie, for a movie which was so long and supposedly based on fact, they sure had a lot non-truth, left out a lot of stuff which was T.E. Lawrence, or twisted the truth about him. But hey, in 1962 you couldn't exactly show on film what you can these days. Thank goodness it is 2001.
