MTV-The Real World

Mon Jan 14, 2002 9:53 am

Do you think it is actually real?

I can't believe how much drama, fights, and everything else 7 people can get into.

Sometimes I think those acts are staged.

Any comments in general about the Real World?

The orginal concept was excellent, but now the cast is so unbelievably filtered and contrived I have no use for the show.

The Real World? No. Half a dozen fashion model wannabes who haven't made it past the eight grade emotionally.

Heavymetal is right,

that's what happens when you put a bunch of spoiled brats together like that.

Real Worl in NY,LA, London, SFO, SEA, BOs and Miami were great but now they are taking people over looks and not so much on brains and personality. It's now a bunch of spoiled stuck up Starbucks crazed liberal yuppies stuck in an expensive house. I now see the show just for the house. Supposedly Chicago is going to be a turn around. I hope they come to DC soon. Hey; They had New Orleans and SEA in the mix. I'm surprised DC wasn't in there.

I agree with Jim. Danny has been my favorite cast member.

Sorry to hear about ORd. Hopefully things will pick up when they fianlly choose DC. The only reason while I liked Hawaii is because the show showed the cast on Palace of Wheels Train and other beautiful sites of India like in Jaipure, Odepure, Jhodipure, etc.

By the way did Real World NYC ever showed the casts reaction to the WTC attack. I did hear filming stopped around September.

Real World Seattle was by far my favorite. Boston and London are tied for a close second. Hawaii wasn't that bad, it was probably by far the most interesting though.

I'd say one of my favorite Real World cast members was probably Kelly or Julie from New Orleans(hey she's hott  Big grin)

Or Lindsay from Seattle, for some reason, she was a strong character, I really liked her, not for looks though, even though she isn't that bad looking either  Big grin

Now I think Genisis,Guiness or whatever her name is(The lesbian in real world boston) is not that bad  Big grin.

Iwareboy- LOL Big grin Big grin

I think all of the filming was done before the WTC attacks. MTV put a notice before all shows and said they were going to show everything as a tribute to the victims.

FYI: The Boston house, which was a former fire station has been vacant since MTV left it after their season was done filming. The interior looks NOTHING like the way it was in the show...they [MTV] stripped it of everything except the pole.

Personally, my favourite was Miami and Boston...London wasn't that bad also.

The 9/11 disaster occured during the filming of the Real World Chicago. I heard that for the first time, they put a TV in the house to keep the roommates abreast of the war on terrorism.

I think Real World New York was done by the time 9/11 occurred. As LH423 said, they put a notice on the screen that they were going to keep the twin towers in to "show the beauty of this great city" or something like that.
I personally think it was a wise choice by MTV  Smile
