Ladies, Gentlemen and Transgender, welcome to Liberal Airlines. Our flight attendants will be serving snacks and beverages shortly. For our "Wealthiest 1% Class" passengers, all food and beverage items are prices based on your income. For the 'Victim Class' passengers, all your food and beverages are free of charge. You can have as much as you want, however, after the complimentary service, we must charge the Wealthiest 1% Class passengers for any further items your desire. Please review the safety card in the seat pockets in front of you. If you are unable to read, alert a flight attendant and they will collect everyone elses cards so that they cannot read them either. Also, please remember the yellow mask that may fall out of the panel above you is an oxygen mask; it is NOT A BONG! We don't want anyone to hyperventilate again! When we reach cruising altitude, your pilot will turn off the seatbelt sign. At that time, you're free to move about the cabin. Your flight attendent will be available to pass out pillows, blankets, needles, and condoms. For those passengers in the back of the aircraft, please let your flight attendent know if you begin to suffer from low self-esteem. He or she will be happy to forcibly switch you with a passenger in the front of the aircraft. Finally, we must warn you that frequently, Liberal Airlines aircraft tend to spiral out of control. But do not worry; FAA regulations require that we have a conservative pilot on board to bring the plane back under control for a smooth flight. If this happens, however, we encourage you to loudly protest these actions, even if it's for your own good. Thank you for flying Liberal Airlines. Your progressive airline!
"Shaddap you!"

I doubt this will phase N400QX too much. after all, he's so conservative, heck even his nuts probably hang to the right.

Sorry, I just had to say that. Couldn't resist.

Vote Liberal! Who wants a leader named Stockwell?!

The liberals would probably kill all US airlines and just have one, just like in Canada where AC and the government killed the competition and have a total monopoly! Yea maybe we should just have United as the airline and kill everyone else? Sounds good dosent it?

I would say Ralph Klein should be PM, but I think Alberta wouldn't want him to go.  Big thumbs up
Funny how the least liberal province in the country has the highest standard of living, lowest taxes, lowest umemployment, most productive work force, lowest business and property taxes.....etc. Coincidence? Oh and don't say it's because of the oil. Oil hasn't been doing that great the last few and we're still #1. See we've beefed up (no pun intended  Smile/happy/getting dizzy) our other exports so if the Liberal gov't tried to pull another N.E.P. (not like we'd let them) the province wouldn't suffer like it did in the 80's. Thanks to the Liberals and the N.E.P. my dad lost his job which caused my parents to seperate when I was like 3 or 4. We'll never forget the N.E.P. I like how Chretien is saying Alberta should share our wealth with the other provinces...Yeah right!! We did this on our own, not with help from the feds. Why should we give a rats ass? Not like they did when we were hurting.

"Vote Liberal" Yeah, when hell freezes over....twice.

You can't blame the Government for that. That was a personal deciscion by two adults.
What about love?

All the other problems, can be faulted by the Government.

I don't see millions of tourist flocking to Edmonton like B.C., Toronto or Montreal. Baniff maybe pretty though.

Yes, you say many wonderful and true things about Alberta, but then you forget the one key fect: It's Alberta. that just about nulls and voids the whole argument.

Just hope Klein doesn't piss away your wealth on booze (no pun intended). Still at least he's probably better than the BC premier-of-the-week.

Yes oil has a big part in Alberta's wealth, but it's not the only one.

Superfly- Things were going great till my Dad lost his job, that's the point of what I said.

AC320- What was that supposed to mean? Have to been to Alberta? To Calgary? You're like those people from the east who move here to get jobs and then bitch about how everything was so much better back east, give me a break  Insane Oh and incase you haven't noticed, most people who move here from other provinces never move back to their home province, that's gotta tell you something?

Why are you living in the U.S. AC320?

Oh and I forgot, everybody makes fun of Klein, yeah he's got a drinking problem, but at least he ADMITS it. He's not some phony baby kisser politician like most of them are. Stockwell is a joke, he was a good treasurer but he got in over his head with the Alliance.

I'm not going to argue anymore, I don't need to. The stats say it all.

VonRichtofen:
That is a terrible story. When or if I get married, I would certainly not get married to a woman who couldn't deal with hardships. People loose their jobs sometimes and it should never have any impact on the integrity of a married couple.
That is a very awful story. I don't think the Canadian Liberal party can be blamed for that.

That's like me blaming Jimmy Carter for my parents break up.

Oh lighten up VonRichtofen, you obviously don't seem in the mood to laugh and have a bit of fun. Take a bath, drink some tea, go for a massage, relax a bit then come back and talk to me.

Hopefully your just suffering from a little tension, and not a full rectal-cranial inversion. If that's the case, we'll need to start the Newfie jokes until you laugh a bit and relax.

And if you must know, I live here because father dearest could not stand the snow any longer. I've already submitted my application to McGill, so I may return to the promised land.

Here ya go!

A Young, Newfoundlander man was walking around a field in Newfoundland, when he came across an old well. He walked up to the well, just to get a look. He noticed an old looking bottle in the well bucket, (which was lying on the ground). He picked it up. And suddenly a genie appeared before him. The genie said, "For freeing me, I will grant you one wish." The young man said, "Ok. I wish that there was a bridge going from Newfoundland to the mainland, you know, like the P.E.I. one." The genie said,"I am sorry, but I can't do that. That would be TOO much change. That would be ALMOST impossible. It would change too many peoples lives." So the young man thought for a second, then said, "Ok, then. I am a proud Newfoundlander, and I am sick and tired of everyone making fun of Newfound landers. SO I wish that Newfound landers were as smart, or even smarter than ANYONE else in the world. Of at least smarter than any other Canadian." The genie said, "So, do you want two lanes, or four?"

 Laugh out loud

That was a good Newfie joke!! LOL

I understand why your father can't take the cold, it's fun when you're a kid but damn it's annoying once you grow up.

Superfly,

My mother CAN deal with harship ok? The reason they split up is because my Dad had to move out of province to get a job. My mother didn't want my brother and sister to have to change schools YET AGAIN so we stayed and she raised us by herself (is that not hardship?)

Now my point is (one more time) if the NEP never happened, none of that would have happened, do you understand?

VonRichtofen:
Sorry if I sounded judgmental or harsh. No harm was intended. I apologize if I came across that way.
Hardships is exaclty that. Hardships!
Our family had to relocate from Indiana to California when I was 12 due to Reaganomics and the export of 1000s of US jobs that really affected the Upper-Midwestern US.
That was after my parents break up though.
People have to make tough deciscions in life and it can be a real bummer.

Look at the brightside. They your parents mangaged to raise a son that's smart enough to decide to go in to aviation and hopefully become a commercial airline pilot!  Smile
Maybe someday you'll be a Captian on an Air Canada A340 or even that 737-200 Liberal plane!  Big thumbs up

So you see, there is always a happy ending! Big grin

No worries Supafly, I apologize for lashing back so hard, it is a touchy subject for me.

Well we still agree on the domestic vs. rice-rocket issue  Big thumbs up

I wouldn't mind being Captain of an A340 (who WOULD mind?) or a 737-200 but not the Lib 737-200 LOL.

As things stand now in the Canadian airline industry, more than likely I'd be getting hired by Westjet rather than Air Canada if I had the experience. That may be true even 5-10 years from now the way Westjet is expanding their fleet with 737-700's.

Regards,
Kris

Funny that you seem to fine with the fact that you may be employed by Westjet in the future, even though their success somewhat is due to the liberalisation of the Canadian airline industry.

I'm glad I at least got something going with this thread  Smile

For those who aren't too familiar with politics, the Liberals are the current federal government (since 1993) but they are actually in the centre of the political spectrum. The Progressive Conservatives have almost the same platform (all they can do is bring up corruption and patronage complaints, while the socialist NDP is on the left and the Alliance on the right. The sepratist party (Bloc Quebecois) is pretty much populist and have both left and right wing ideas.
