Requiem For A Certain 737-200

Mon Feb 25, 2002 4:19 am

Heaven for fend some shiftless wind should drift anywhere near touching those of you who find poetic goings on not worthy of your time, or more so of spending it insulting those who have pain enough already.

In the rather long passing of time which has described my membership on this forum, I have come to know and understand some of you, and others to shake my head at in constant mystification.

And there are those who’ll gripe about a thousand posts which say one thing, never thinking that perhaps it is a thing of need, a thing best said a thousand times. There are those who’ll find a post which makes some feeble go of poetry or eloquence absurd enough to call the one who made it bad. And worst of all, there are those who cannot find things meaningful enough to do with their lives that they must come here and char and scar that which would be otherwise, quite frankly, beautiful.

So if you hated or disliked, or often times thought queer, our Aloha 737-200, then perhaps you’re right. Perhaps he, like you, didn’t fit. And perhaps if you have a brain, which methinks you do, you can look at yourself and try to figure out why it is so easy to hate, so hard to accept that which is different.

In the mean time, I will say that there are many of you who I would rather have seen gone before Aloha, and that his going makes this place less wholesome and less wonderful. He was a positive contributor, a good person, and an entirely worthwhile member. So whatever shiftless wind now fills his sails, I hope it one for better, kinder times with people less judgmental.

Get it through your thick skull; none of us dislike Aloha. But his post was not 'beautiful.' It was absurd and ridiculous. Kinda like you were trying to make yours.

It is so easy to blame... yet so difficult to read again.  Insane

Iwareboy.  Big thumbs up

Nobody forced Aloha to leave, if he did. I have no idea. It's not a tough concept to figure out. He chose to post about his personal life in detail. He got allot of support, and he got allot of critisizm. He should have been able to deal with both, or not open himself up personally like he did.

Do any of you know how hard it is to try to deal with the fact that your father-figure is dying? It doesn't matter how big of an a**hole he is. It is still very difficult to deal with. My father and I had major problems when I was growing up: name calling, beating, etc. When he died, it was not totaly unexpected, but it was a shock. Even though he did bad things to me and my brothers, I still think about the good things that he did for us. Aloha is dealing with his personal stuff in his own way. I'm sure he thought this was the only place he could go to get any kind of support that he couldn't get at home. If it made him feel better to write in poetic form, so be it. He's having a hard enough time as it is. If some of you can't deal with guys talking about their personal problems, don't read the thread.

This is sad and I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU SEB146, but I also think that Aloha was here long enough to know that there are ignorant, immature and hurtful people on these forums. If you open yourself up and let everyone know your personal business, you should at least be ready to hear all of the positive AND negative things that people will have to say about it.

I have chatted with Aloha once. I didn't really know him, but there is no excuse for the way that he was treated (especially considering the situation that he is in) and its horrible that he is gone. Sad
