Spontaneous Human Combustion

Sun Mar 03, 2002 12:29 pm

What are everyone's opinions on Spontaneous Human Combustion? Is it real? Or do some of you guys think it's just a rediculous legend.

Personally, I don't know what to believe. It seems that there is no other explainations for some of the cases, and SHC seems to be the only answer. But then research shows that the "wick" effect is able to even destroy bones, but it would take hours and hours. Investigators are still perplexed by these seemingly impossible burnings.

So are your opinions and theories?

I'm not so sure I believe it...I have seen flaming flatulence before and those people never caught on fire. If that won't set somebody cracklin', I don't know if it can be done!  Big thumbs up

Rumor has it, that if you try to light your fart on fire in a sleeping bag, you are likely to BLOW UP!

"Rumor has it, that if you try to light your fart on fire in a sleeping bag, you are likely to BLOW UP!"

Lighting a match while entombed in a vinyl, cotton and feather-laced sleeping bag is pretty fucking stupid with or without the fart.

JetService,

So, you've tried it? Haven't you?

Come on, there is a little boy in you somewhere.

Joan of Arc?

No, I think it was Joan Van Ark who sc'ed.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Metwrench, hell no I've never tried it!!! That's Darwin material. But I think you may be on to something. I wonder if any of those SHC case inspectors ever considered that theory.

CRIME SCENE REPORT:
Two full hands from the wrist; two full feet from the ankles laying in a pile of ashes, mysteriously surrounded by a single 15' long charred zipper. Also noted was an aroma of burnt plastic, roasted duck and an unidentified foul odor that resembled beer-nuts.

If Monica Lewinski combusted, that would be one hell of a 3-alarm blaze!

She's just got the bulk.

Besides, she seems to be a burning cauldron inside....the problem is the outside view ain't that hot.
