TWFirst,

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(Yes, blacks laugh at ebonics too.)

4holer on the other hand, you actually exhibited no "ebonics" with your remark.

Anyways, I think it's one of those schtoopid ideas that managed its way out of California.

DLX,
Yeah, I know. I wasn't trying to. The 'thing' was a good natured jab at the misspelled title.
The 'whack' I believe to be the stupidest of the more recent hip hop expressions, not Ebonics.
The 'word' is simply the stupidest expression in history, more associated with Vanilla Ice than anyone else.

For me to use real Ebonic expressions could be considered offensive, so I was not even going to try.
Truthfully, I consider Ebonics valid insofar as it describes a way of speech that indeed exists, but as a separate language or something to be studied and taught, in my opinion, the movement was silly and counterproductive.

I grew up with several black friends in a racially diverse city, and I enjoy the 'dialect,' if you prefer to call it that... I think it's fun. My best friend (who is a straight white male) and I like to speak female ebonics to each other, i.e. "Girl, whatchoo be up to" etc.

TWFirst, I hear ya.

My roommate and I commonly get 'ethnic' with each other in jest. I'm not offended by the words, unless it's obvious that the user is trying to be derrogatory.

Same with me. When my friends or others around me talk "gay" to each other in jest, I'm not offended either unless the intention is to be insulting. I don't talk or act effeminate so I'm not insecure when people joke about it.

I think that people who consistently speak Ebonics are limiting themselves, career-wise and otherwise. I think that there are many people out there that have a hard time taking someone seriously when they don't speak proper English, especially in the business world. Those speaking Ebonics are helping other people stereotype them. I'm not saying that it's right (some would call it racism), but it's probably true.

Dude, it depends what Ebonics you're talkin about.
-Beanerbonics (Mexicans)
-Ghettobonics (Hood Rats)

An example of a Beanerbonics conversation:

Alfonso: "Dang mama we dont got notin to do toonight"

Mom: "Shut up Eiho, why dont you drag yer lazy ass to da store and rent a fockin bideo? And I tol jou to clean your room puta!"

Big thumbs up Clovis, Beanerbonics expert PhD  Laugh out loud

Well now that we are on the subject, can someone please enlighten me on the following:

What is a "beoutch" and "mofoe"?

Although I am black, I have no idea what the above phrases mean, and I have seen them hear and other places.

Just curious!

My roomate last semster in Minnesota was black. At first when he was talking to his friends I would have no idea what he was saying, but I slowly picked it up. He was a good guy, made the semester in the middle of nowhere go by a little easier. Nothing like watching a black guy from Miami get ready to go outside when its about 10 degrees outside. He would put on everythig he had if it got below 40.
