Joahn: Suggestion For An New A.I. Administrator

Wed Mar 13, 2002 5:18 am

Hello Johan,

I was thinking, you know how the spell/grammar check in more word processing program work? If it were possible, can a program be made for Airliners.net that automatically tracks all new posts for their content, placement appropriation and if they followed the rules?

Make a test program that goes after inappropriate language in the forums, for example. The admin @ the hotmail chat rooms is just that, it kicks folks off for using language that is foul...of course all they have to do is click refresh and they're back in again.  Sad

Have them all be sorted out by who posted them or whatever and let you have the final say on deletion. Now that think about it, that is probably really close to what the button is for.

Hmm, okay...the one about scanning for foul language, have it make automatic deletions; and instead of deleting posts in the wrong forum, simply move them to the right one. Make multiple copies of the program so there is one for each forum. Alternatively, maybe bring up a third window while we post something that suggests putting our posts in another forum and list them. In addition, have it automatically scan content for repeats and open a new window of searches under the specific topic.

Yeah, that should do it.

This was in response to what TechRep and others were griping about.  Big thumbs up

These forums are very busy, and it'd cost a lot to make a program like that wouldn't it?

Johan is already busy enough isn't he!? Though I sort of agree, it would be good.

Do you think the discussion board is just a website, it is an entire program in itself. The entire administration should be able to make it themselves, they could hire an intern. Yes it would cost a lot, maybe hundreds.

Ooh, I see a bad spelling error...  Wow! , fixed it.

It's a huge and busy site! Don't you think they've got enough to do at the moment?

You mean I should get kicked for saying "shit"?

I must say I find the frequent proposals for mass murder and torture a lot more disturbing! Even if I think we can deal with most things on ourselves. Deletion isn´t really the way to go - except in rare cases.

The really evil things are not detectable by a program anyway. (Just forget about A."I."!)
