The fact that this actually makes news only emphasizes how quickly things have returned to normal.

I can't believe you said that! Red-blooded males around the world (except Australia and parts of Europe  Smile/happy/getting dizzy ) have lusted after our Rosie since she first appeared. I even changed my work schedule just to see her lovliness on the afternoon show! And now this!

I don't think it's newsworthy that she is a lesbian in a relationship. What I think it truly stunning and worthy of the news is that ANYONE is attracted to Rosie O'Donnell!!

For some reason, I keep getting that line from the Steve Martin movie "The Man With Two Brains" in my mind.
"I couldn't f*ck a gorilla!..."

(He wanted to transplant a girl's brain he loved into a body so it/she could survive. The only body available was a gorilla.)

What I don't get, is how the media is all saying that Rosie O'Fat errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Donnell is so brave and blah blah blah for coming out. EVERYONE knew she was a carpetmuncher. Who cares? This is a perfect example of whats wrong with today's society. People come out all the time, but don't try and tell me that because Rosie O'Fat errrrrrrrrrrrr Donnell is a "celebrity" that it means more, is more important, or more brave than the next person. Rosie is fat, disgusting, annoying, loud, obnoxious(sp), fake, and a lesbian. Her being a lesbian is no big deal. If they want to say that she is brave, they should say she is brave for being on T.V. with all her other "qualities", or lack there of.

KROC,
Amen!
Being brave would be doing it BEFORE she was wealthy for life. And how about the egotism of declaring "I am THE gay parent!" (or something like that).

Howard Strern being one of my role models, I must say I agree with his takes on Rosie as well.

As for Rosie and the strap-on. Her blond friend has contacted me about the use of the "Shaft", but I flatly denied her the use of the Shaft. I will not let Rosie spoil the sanctity of the Shaft!

Time for 777236ER English Language Lesson Of The Day

"Blond" is the only word in the English language that is dependant on gender. It's "blonde" for females, "blond" for males. I assume KROC meant a female blonde, so he should have used the "blonde" version.

Tune in next time for another exciting 777236ER English Language Lesson Of The Day

Sorry, 777-236ER, you are INCORRECT in this English lesson!

Another gender-dependent word is .........

fiance / fiancee.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

No, fiancé and fiancée aren't gender dependant. Both spellings are acceptable for both genders, although obviously they were gender dependant in the past.

Lax, I had you pegged as a Mark and Brian listener.....am I right? lol.

Stern has done plenty of stuff without T&A. You are just a critic, because critics who don't know uch about him or the show always jump right to the T&A part. Hey, it's all good. Jim Rome is another role model. Perhaps one of the very few decent Los Angelinos.

Oh, and I would pick a brick wall as a role model before Rosie (Homer Shudder)

Nope, you are incorrect!

According to my Webster's......
Fiance is ONLY a man;
Fiancee is ONLY a female.

Otherwise, what's the point of having two specific variants??

KROC:

Mark/Brian ??? Haven't a clue as to who they are.

As for Stern.....I've never seen his show without seeing a strip show. (Granted, I've got enough sense to have not seen EVERY Stern fiasco; but, EVERY time I happen upon him, it's sex, sex, and still more unmentionables!)

If he's done other, non-sex shows, I haven't witnessed them. You're probably right though. I imagine the network makes Howard do at least 1 program out of every 500 without a sex angle!! Tell me when that ONE pops up next, so I can tune in your role model!

On the other side of this argument ...... I did very much like his movie, Private Parts.

Jim Rome is good, I agree! He's fun to watch!

Flame on!

Peace!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

777....

Now we can start up a discussion regarding the word "dependent".

You say "dependant". I've put "dependent".

What does your OED say here?

Webster's has either version as accepted. However, the "e" variant is #1 (preferred).

What's next? Grey? Gray? Theater? Theatre?

Lax, all that is hyped about Stern is the sex angle. But, sex sells, sex gets ratings, and sex has made him a ton of money. Also, I am more referring to his radio show than his T.V. show. He had Paul McCartney on not to long ago, and hte interview was outstanding. Even actualy reputible newspapers made mention of it. For the critic, all he is, is sex and vulgarity. For the fan, he is a combination of all things, but ultimately we all just laugh. All it is is a show.

Oxford English Dictionary. I was just joking around, but I actually am right. Don't get bitchy, cos I can get bitchy too.

Webster's may be the authority on American English, but the Oxford English Dictionary is the authority on English.

Thanks DLX!

You're referring to the fiance thingie, right?

Is that what the "O" is in OED , Oxford? OK

I guess different countries have different definitions of certain words.

Then there's the extra "u" put into everything in England .........

Erm, 1. Webster's is American. By definition, English originated in England. This isn't being anti-American, this is just pointing out the fact that English was born in England.

2. The OED is accepted as being the authority on English. You don't have to accept it if you don't want, but technically, you're wrong.
