Attention reality TV lovers: Jason Ruta, the 22-year-old Calgarian who has been living his life in the public eye as a cast member on U8TV: The Lofters, needs your help.

On Monday, following Ruta's performance review by producers of the show, the Calgarian was put up for replacement status, along with Annie, the former exotic dancer from Coquitlam, B.C.

But viewers can vote to save one of the two lofters. Viewers have until Thursday at 4 p.m. to vote online at

After the nominations were announced Monday night, so many fans flocked to the Web site that it temporarily crashed.

After the final votes are tallied, the fate of Ruta and Annie will be announced that evening at 6:30 p.m. The departing cast member will have 24 hours to leave the loft and a new lofter will move in April 8.

Since he moved into the loft 10 weeks ago, Ruta has made a splash on the show by coming out. He has been the host of U8TV's gay talk show, SoGayTV, and he co-hosts Homewrecker with Annie.

Now in its second year, U8TV is a reality program in which eight Canadians live in a downtown Toronto loft for one year, their every move broadcast 24/7 on the Internet.

The eight lofters are also seen weeknights on Life Network (Ch. 33) at 6:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

I think it's really surprise that Calgary's newspaper would have a special report about this small town boy who recently coming out on the National Television across Canada. And they're asking to save this 22/yo cutie for staying in the loft.

Even Vancouver Sun or the Province in BC didn't have the speical report for "Save former stripper Annie (21y/o)" campaign.
