If You Could...

Thu Apr 04, 2002 3:51 pm

What 3 people in history would you "terminate" before they could cause chaos? Mine would be:

1. Adolf Hitler
2. Karl Marx
3. John Wilkes Boothe

True, but didn't carry on his ideals.

Many died in the names of many US Presidents too.

A lot of blood was spilled in the name of Karl Marx. True. Very true.

I hesitate to mention the fact that more has been spilled in the name of Christ. Would you also terminate Him?

And no, I am in no way comparing Marx to Jesus. Just making the point that blood being spilled in someones name does not make that person evil.

I think Marx was a man who meant well, but it just didn't work out...Communism is a great theory (think about it...no one is poor, everyone helps everyone) on paper, but everything screws up when it is put into action... Let me make it clear that I'm not Communist or an advocate for Communism, but it really does seem like a fairly good concept that went horribly wrong...

I can't name "3 people" but rather characteristics of undesireable behavior -

1 - Insecurity
2 - Arrogance
3 - Greed

Anyone of power having the above 3 traits - I consider a threat to the free world...

Milosevic ethnic-cleansed thousands of Albanians, Bosnians, and ruined the economy of 30M people, causing Yugoslavia to split up. The most murderous and heinous European since Hitler.

Isn't this enough for you?

Just recieved a hate letter from someone who's address is eric.hung@rogers.com who threatened to terminate ME cause I'm gay. Feel free to mail him directly.........
I have and so have my many friends, he should have an e-mail box full of gay come-ons and pictures of the male anatomy. Disagreements are fine but threats shouldn't be part of this forum. Any way to find out who this cretin is?

If it wasn't for those guys like Hitler, Milosevic, etc how would people learn their history lessons? Someone would be bound to commit those disasters one day or another.

It's another sad fact however that humanity hardly learns ANY history. Look, politicians and other people in the power KEEP making mistakes for centuries. They just don't learn.

Yyz717,

If you know the number of people Milishevich killed, people of Yugoslavia heard that number too.
He ruined the economy, and they let him do it.
He splited Yugoslavia and they let him stay in office for so long.
Shouldn't you be 'terminating' them too?

There are goals Western powers are persuing and Yugoslavia was on their way. So it was 'terminated'.

Looks like Propoganda Machine works well...

NWA,

Ivan the Terrible was not so TERRIBLE!! (by 16th centuary standards)
Siberia at that time was a battelfield. Criminals from Russia, locals and Mongolians fought for control there. A lot of blood was spiled, but Ivan put a stop to that: he declared it a part of Russia.

His name in Russian is GROZNII(Грозный ). Which can be translated as -terrible- but also as -thunder-
He was born during a huge thunder storm, so he was called Ivan the Thunder.

I would terminate:
1. Stalin.
2. Hitler.
3. My math teacher Inna Ivanovna.

Kokolokman.....you're Russian right? There is a natural alliance between the Russians and Serbs......you're both Slavic, so I can see why you would defend a murderer and rapist such as Milosevic. For centuries, Serbs and Russians have looked longingly and enviously at the West....clearly it's still going on.

The West had no designs or goals with Serbia. It's an underdeveloped Communist wasteland (not unlike Russia). The West bombed Serbia to teach it a lesson.....that ethnic-cleansing is unacceptable.

As for propaganda.....the West has a free press. Russia and Serbia still don't. I wonder where the propaganda is???????

Kolobokman: Do you really think the Yugoslavian people kept Milosevic in power?! No. It was, contrary to your statement, a lack of Western care towards Yugoslavia that allowed him for over 10 years to tamper with the elections unnoticed. Why do you think it is that after his and his governments illegal actions and heinous crimes committed under his control came to centre stage that when the West began to pay attention to the elections, (that provided a largely tamper-free environment) Milosevic lost? You think that after 10 years of conflict only NOW did the Yugoslavian people wake up and realize what a shitbag Milosevic really was?! No! Milosevic had no problem allowing the ethnic cleansing of Bosnians, Croats, and Albanians by the Yugoslavian army under his control. BTW, this is hardly Western desire to screw with Yugoslavia. Prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia was THE holiday destination for Eastern and Central Europeans. Yugoslavia was the only country on good diplomatic ground with the European Community and the United States (who remembers the Jugo in the US? Now, who remembers the Lada? See my point?). In 10 years, Milosevic turned the only former Communist nation that was believed to make the transition to Capitalism and be a competitive nation to other European nations. Look what Milosevic did to that country in just 10 years! So please do not go about acting like people's hatred towards Milosevic is just Western greed.

1. Hitler
2. Milosevic
3. Stalin (please don't defend him either. All I have to say is "20 million Russians"

Yyz717.....you're a Western user right? There is a natural and unconditional trust to the media in the West...so I can see why you would never question anything the West does...there is always a good explanation of any actions made by the West in your local newspaper. For years they palyed with your brains...clearly it's still going on.

The West had no designs or goals with Serbia. It's an underdeveloped Communist wasteland (not unlike Russia). The West bombed Serbia to teach it a lesson.....that ethnic-cleansing is unacceptable.

Do you really think that the bombing of Yugoslavia was about ethnic-cleansing? There were dozens of conflicts since WWII, were there was ethnic-cleansing. They stayed unnoticed. But this one was 'taken care of' only because there was something for the West. Yugoslavia was the only 'independed' from the wester influence country in the eastern bloc. It was a bumper on the road to Caspian oil. It had to be 'changed'.

Miloshevich today is acused for the things he allowed to happen in the period from 1992 to 1995. Why didnt we see any 'real' actions from the West back then? Why only in '99 right after 08.98 economical crisis, we first heard of KLA (non-existent before that)?

As for propaganda.....the West has a free press. Russia and Serbia still don't. I wonder where the propaganda is???????

All of the Western media tells only one side of the story and it is always the 'official' side of the story. Same as the governments. My views (unlike yours), do not reflect Russian mass-media. I wonder where the propaganda is???????

The Western media provides ALL view points. Left wing/right wing. Pacifist/Activist. etc. The Russian media to this day is all govt-owned.

ALL the Western media concurred about the ethnic-cleansing by Milosevic. This was the most foul act in Europe since Hitler. There are no other examples that come close.

Belgrade deserved the s**t-kicking it got from NATO. One of NATO's finest hours.

I belive Miloshevich lost the elections. And should be tried in Yugoslavia for the crimes he commited (he wasn't a very good president)

The question here is the magnifying those crimes, to cause military untervention and use the results.

3. Stalin (please don't defend him either. All I have to say is "20 million Russians"
