Nine teeth pulled? Wow. Glad to hear you didn't have much pain. Yeah wisdom teeth are different from what I hear. He didn't have to cut, or at least I don't think he did. He just took some probes, pushed around, took this tool and pulled em out whole. My teeth don't numb easily, so he had to keep injecting the novocain. It's the injections that are the most painful. After that its okay.
I didn't have nine pulled at once, that's for sure! One was in late 1982, another in the summer of 1983, five at once on February 9, 1984 (it was the day Yuri Andropov died, which is how I was able to figure out the exact date), and two in June 2000.
It sounds as if your wisdom teeth were non-impacted and could be pulled pretty much like regular teeth. Sometimes they have to be broken apart or even a piece of jaw bone removed, although even then it isn't too terrible a procedure, not as bad as it sounds.
I know what you mean about novocaine. My 16 y.o. stepdaughter is very resistant to it, and has to be given much more than the usual dose in order for the area to be numbed properly. Some people's mouths are like that, I don't know why.
"Let me think about it" = the coward's way of saying "no"
