Keyboard Problem

Sat May 11, 2002 10:28 pm

I bought a new keyboard for the computer, but the pound sign doesn't seem to work, the dollar sign works.

shift+4 = $
shift+3 = #

I get the hash sign instead of a pound sign. I went to the keyboard settings in the control panel and tried to change the keyboard layout to British English, but it asks for Win ME disk. I put that in but it doesn't work.

Anyone help me here

thanks

Try 'Alt Gr'+3 instead.

Do you get the £pound sign if you press hash?

Alt Gr is the key just to the right of space bar.

When prompted for the ME disc, you need to actually direct with the browse button to where the actual files are kept on the cd. For some reason windows ME was really crap for that, but it will work. If you can get it, email me on cheekyjeremy@aol.com and I will give you my tel number and talk you through it

If you installed new drivers, it might have installed the US version, and not the British... see if you can change the settings to British... that should do the trick.
