I Just Want To Show That I Care.

Mon May 20, 2002 8:12 pm

Hey for all of those unfortunates who lost their jobs when the economy turned south after Clinton's fiscal mismanagement.

I just want you to know that you are not alone.

There are others out there just like you

Sometimes it helps to talk about it

Did either of you click on the link????

BTW. Clinton's era economic strenght was based on the Dot.com bubble which was not sustainable and burst right before he left office.

Keep believing that. Maybe one day it'll be true.

The good economic times of the 90s began when Bill Clinton sat down with Republican Fed chairman Alan Greenspan (who in a New Yorker interview several years ago said he thought Bush I was an economic lightweight who pandered to special interests too much to be concerned with the health of the economy)...and together they sketched out a plan for deficit reduction (a plan Clinton took massive flak for from the traditional pork eaters in his own party). The economic rebound from the recession of the early 90s began in earnest in late 93/early 94...long before the dot com 'bubble'.

In any case, I'm with Greg. The 90s were salad days for me, too. Clinton was president. No amount of Rush Limbaugh-Fox'News'-induced pychobabble will change that.

I will grant you that the rebound started then, but the majority was still the dot.com bubble.

Also Clinton had a belief in free-market economies and the teaching of Hayak, which is very un-liberal, very conservative. That traditionally has been a republican stance.

Seriously though, the topic was supposed to be about the cartoon, I linked too, I thought it was hilarious.

That cartoon soared in popularity (or at least the first time I saw it) just as the USS Enron was going down. Thanks for reposting the link L-188.

I still laugh at the "Perv's Porn Palace" scene.

I agree with L-188, Clinton not only screwed up the economy for George W to handle, but he also almost ruined this country. In my opinion he was definatley one of if not the worst president we have ever had.

L-188-The cartoon was excellant!  Big thumbs up
